JT and that Scottish Kilt--lol I think they are too lazy to rearrange their songs--this was all Warren---lol I love all the funky rearrangements from the Strange Behaviour tour. I know it was when Warren first started with them, but I wonder if he was already their "musical director?" I really love the house version of "Girls On Film" from the Big Thing tour, that was fun! I was never crazy for this version of Hungry, but they look like they are having fun

That HLTW version was flat out f**king awesome!! Although Nick seemed a bit out of place in the pink suit (but I still love that suit!). THANKS for posting that!

I'd love a punk version of the set just to show the young guns that the classics can still be thrashed to - but of course after 30mins Simons voice would croak out, and we'd have whisper punk rock instead. I've heard so many amazing versions of songs live that I really cant imagine why they play them like lip syncing to Top of the Pops - as they may as well play the album track and wave to the crowd. But of course mixing up the set trying to make it more modern can have the opposite effect. If I ran the band I'd have them try all kinds of things to shake up the picture with the lizard mixture. (really sorry)

I think that reinventions generally haven't improved (or are not going to improve) on the original song vibe (possible exception of Secret Oktober). If anything, they should experiment (occasionally) with alternate intros, extended intros, modified middle sections and extended (or jammed) endings. Rehearse a punk version, then patch that in as verse 1 leading to the original chorus with extra bits added for pleasure?
