Odd one to rerelease as the tracks have been issued publically. They have rarer ones that need reissuing.

ok, question here: WHO is the dd fan club exactly?? who supplies the rare photos, music, etc.? anyone?? Some guy who buys and sells on eBay as 'xxxxx' (real name xxxxx) from xxxxx. Also has an Internet site called xxxxx where he sells. xxxxx also adds his own bootlegs on to Discogs. (NOTE: xxxxx has been edited out) I'm still not convinced the 'A View to a Kill' 12" remix is from 1985. About a year ago I remember someone on this site asked the question if a remix existed, then suddenly a recording popped up at DD Fan Club. In fairness on the 'Unleased' he has NOT credited the remix or try to lie, but just let people think its an original from 1985. I know a remix producer has said he did a remix in 1985 and has claimed this track, but has he actually heard the DD Fan Club version?

I'm still not convinced the 'A View to a Kill' 12" remix is from 1985. About a year ago I remember someone on this site asked the question if a remix existed, then suddenly a recording popped up at DD Fan Club. In fareness on the 'Unleased' he has NOT credited the remix or try to lie, but just let people think its an original from 1985. I know a remix producer has said he did a remix in 1985 and has claimed this track, but has he actually heard the DD Fan Club version? Oh FFS... Let's go back to claiming that stuff on it's not real again without doing the most basic of fact checks - as it was all discussed at length at the time & i provided old pics that i'd been sent of some of the things in question when i'd first gotten the tracks over the years.
Anyway, let's pretend that it's never been discussed before... ...so Steve Thompson's going to be contacted about the remix appearing online, & then without checking it out, not only publically state that it's his remix, but also put it up on his own website?
(stevethompsonproductions.com/a-view-to-a-kill-steve-thompson-mix-full-version-watch-and-listen-to-steves-full-mix-of-the-duran-duran-song/)
imho this is 'slightly' lazy, as sticking - Steve Thompson A View To A Kill - into Google & Steve's site is the second page, so you could have solved this huge uncertainty that you had for yourself - rather than making claims that anyone's been trying to mislead the fans by allowing us to make false assumptions.
As to the timing, coincidences happen.
i randomly (as i don't know anything about any of the previous FanClub releases) know some of the history here though bits of conversation that significantly predated the release, & originally there was going to be a double CD a few years back... ...time passed for various reasons & then the actual track listing for Unleashed was being decided upon about a year before it came out.
& otherwise, if something's not appeared & then does, i'm not quite sure how it couldn't 'suddenly pop up' with a bootleg release.
Unless your suggesting that hearing an old unreleased remix for the first time is so frightening that people need subtle hints for months beforehand to gradually ease them into the mind-set for it or something???

Yes sorry its been discussed at length. This thread asked whats the DD Fan Club is up to?
Then someone asked who is the DD Fan Club?
Then I took it some where else!
Lets get back to the original question, but I would like to finish this section by saying DD Fan Club hasn't claimed anything on the Remix. Can you answer a simple yes or no? The photo you posted of the 12" remix recording, does this contain the same recording the DD Fan Club released? Simple yes or no?
Then back to the original question.

I think he means the pic of the reel-to-reel tape the contains the mix.
But I think we should cherish the releases of DD Fan Club and shouldn't endanger possible future releases by going in to deeply in who they are and where they come from as this forum had been threatened by the band before that discussions like these are not allowed...which let to closing doen the Collector's Corner... So I wouldn't disclose too much info on this topic and remove personal info....but that's just me
