In March I am taking my by then 12-year-old daughter to see My Chemical Romance.
I was the exact same ago when my mom took me to see DD in '84.
Talk about the circle of life!
Have any of you taken your kids to concerts yet?

That is cool! Do you like them, too?
Haven't done that yet (take a child to a concert by an artist that *I* like, too), but I'm sure I will in the future.

I took my eldest son to see Metallica when he was five. We were seated, and both his dad and I made sure that he was wearing earplugs. You've got to, if the band you're seeing has been recorded at a volume of 147 decibels.;D
He went to see them again, when he was seven, and hopefully, he'll come to a Dublin show on the next 'Tallica tour.

Just beware of the crowd surfers! We saw MCR at Bang...some younger teens were in the crowd and almost got mashed. One poor little girl had some teeth knocked out by a guy's boot.

I never would have liked them on my own; I thought they looked pretentious and just assumed they would suck. But through listening to them via my daughter they have grown on me a lot. I especially like the sond Dead from the latest CD.
I am keeping a short leash on her and we will be nowhere near any mosh pits or anything! That is horrible about that little girl losing her teeth! My sister's friend saw them not too long ago and came home with only one shoe on. So I guess it can get kinda wild.

Awww, brings back memories. I saw my first concert at 12 also. (It was DD BTW!) Just keep her close to you for safety & enjoy the show. I agree that MCR music sort of grows on you the more you hear it.

We've taken my Godaughter to different concerts including Duran Duran,Aerosmith, and Kiss. She was 6 when we saw Kiss.It was outside so the volume wasn't too bad.

Jody- you are a cool Mom. I hope your daughter appreciates you! I wanted to see DD so bad when I was 12 but my Mom would not let me go, nor would she go with me. A little part of me is still pissed off at her....
