Yep, I vote for dress number one also. I took a social dance class in college, but that's all I know about it. Still, from what I know, I'd say the first dress better suits the quickstep you're doing. (I agree with the person that said the second dress looks more like a tango sort of thing.)
And, by the way, I just exalted you for good luck at your showcase with the hot Russian teacher.
