I think my new jam "Fire in the City" certainly has a nod to DD.

In December of 2012 Bittersweet Machines released the debut album, SOLITUDA. The LP was described by Heath Andrews as "Taking the pop song craft of bands like U2 and Duran Duran and combining it with the tones of groups such as Radiohead and Catherine Wheel". While Kevin Mathews sums it up with one word... "Eargasm!"
The 2013 follow up release of MOMENTARY LIGHTS was also received with widespread adoration from critics. “These songs will give you faith in music again and they will be songs that you will play over and over” said Andrea Guy. While Rhonda Readence observed “This is an artist who turns life into music, making it a living form of art, and he does it effortlessly.”
Bittersweet Machines released HOW TO START A TIDAL WAVE on November 14, 2013. "With this collection of songs I really wanted to play to my extremes", says Mocharnuk. "I wanted to build on my particular brand of pop music; to continue to play in that box but push against the edges, making the space to play in even bigger."
A NIGHT FULL OF SHARP EDGES was released on June 13, 2014. Reviews for the EP have been overwhelmingly favorable. The Power of Pop music blog wrote "I cannot help but be awed by the consistent quality of the songs found on Bittersweet Machines EPs and albums. New EP – A Night Full of Sharp Edges – is no exception to this rule. Yet another bloody essential release from Bittersweet Machines." While Atlas and the Anchor contributor Justin Krietzer proclaimed “The self-released five-song EP perfectly captures his ambitious indie-pop sound that is laced with cinematic piano and smart, radio-ready alternative rock hooks, marrying the world-conquering rock anthems of U2 and Coldplay with the synth-driven emotional pull of 80’s post-punk for a unique sound.”
On August 5, 2015 Bittersweet Machines released NEW EYES FOR OLD HAUNTS; a six song collection featuring the lead single "More than Ever".
Mocharnuk released another 5 song EP in September 2016 called GIRL WITH THE BEE-STUNG LIPS The album photograph for the single was taken by Laurie Jane Harding of "Laura Jane Photography". Early reviews of the single have been met with high praise with Power of Pop music blog saying;
"The title track is an epic synth-laden acoustic folk-rock number that drips like honey into your consciousness while “The Way Back Home” holds a country-folk torch at the end of a long dark tunnel. The latter moves away from typical BM territory but its organic sincerity is heartfelt with a chorus that soars. Essential! Listen with your heart and soul, listen without prejudice and Bittersweet Machines’ fine grasp of soaring 80s pop-rock anthem aesthetics will send chills down your spine. Open your ears "
