it's been mild all winter here in the UK (apart from a couple of days) which is ok with me- the downside is that it seems to be raining all the time- which it's been doing since I got up about 7 hours ago

In Texas, we'll take the warmer winters, but we certainly don't need our summers any hotter. They have been getting hotter later in the year. August and September have been brutal the past few years, while June and July haven't been quite as bad. I read an interesting report the other day that said we've really only been tracking temperatures across the globe since the mid-1800's. It would be interesting to know if this type of thing occurs naturally every few centuries or not.
Cath---I love Stockholm! I got to visit in the early 90's with a Wind Ensemble I was playing in and I fell in love with your city! I have great memories of my trip to Sweden and Denmark that summer, but Stockholm was my favorite place.
