And the three teenagers who hadn't heard of Duran Duran before they discovered this fantastic new dance track called Last Night In The City from a band of 60 year old men probably love it as well. So mission accomplished!
Attention Fickle Teens...
"Your mission then, Find Duran Duran"
Their attitude at reaching a young audience at their age, is getting old and borderline creepy.
It worked for those geezers that did "Macarena" Maybe we don't realize the huge influence Los Del Rio had on Duran. Duran should call themselves Los(T) El Rio...
Eh, better not give them any ideas.
I have a hard time defending Duran to a lot of my friends.
Most of my friends just think Duran are sellouts. It's been hard to argue that for a while now.
I always explain Duran were the biggest band in the world in the early to mid 80s. Things went tits up for them and they, especially Simon and Nick are perseveering bastards, but they tend to take some strange turns often and that to me is why, unfortunately for them, will never reclaim the throne.
JT had mentioned while recording Paper Gods they had to take into account, that they were "Dealing with legacy here"
I don't know what he was on about.
The album cracked the top ten stateside... Good for them, but what will that matter in the long run?
Kids run all over my town wearing Joy Division and Lou Reed T-shirts, Trendy, I know. But,when I run around in a Duran shirt I get compliments from Taylor Swift fans and snickers and scowls from the hipsters..
"Just a minute, I'll slip something Off... Can You Hear Me Now?"
People are weird!
