Theres a French 7" bum too isnt there?
WHSmith refused to stock it in the UK so EMI caved in. Hence there must be UK promo 7"s too.... never seen them though!
Mmmmm… Well the actual quote from Nick was - "The bum? Well emi just refused - they said WH Smiths wouldn't stock it so they didn't print them up."

So, with that phrasing, i don't believe that WH Smith were ever actually asked - instead it just being the example used by emi in refusing to print it.
indeed, the cassingle certainly wasn't stocked everywhere - to the extent that i was completely oblivious to it on release since the advert only mentioned the 7" & 12", & the stores i went in simply didn't have it in...
Yeah, i'm not saying that equality should mean heading for the lowest common denominator... ...but i guess it's the hypocrisy of the times - where it was fine to have 'girly mags' & page 3 girls in tabloids & whatnot selling to men in all & everywhere; but not when selling a 'wholesome pop group' to (predominantly) women.
As to a promo, at the time then the only physical promo copies about (either in record stores or via Record Collector) were white label in black sleeve ones - &, again, with emi refusing to print it then i don't believe that the proposed UK version shown in the article ever existed as more than artwork.
Otherwise, whilst i do like the style of your videos & appreciate that some effort goes in - albeit there are consistent issues of stuff being trimmed by the white borders (see the red advert & articles in this one as examples)…
[NB i assume this is the s/w you're using - where it would be readily correctable by adding borders to the images before importing them to compensate using a 'resize canvas' command to add one.]
...i did think that this one strayed off topic a little too much - as i'm really not convinced that lots of it related to ST as a release.
That said, there's not huge amounts of actual items that could have been added... Well, i guess that there's stuff like the Japanese sleeve which would be different enough... …& the 1 track promo video i (as the 3 track dates to MEP of course)… …& the Japanese phonecard with the image from the poster sleeve might have fitted in...
...but perhaps using a few stills from the video interspersed between the items might have worked better than leaping back to 86 (with the calendar) & forward to 88 (with WFTST)?
Just my opinion though.
