As for the use of some of the collectibles you don’t feel are relevant, my article focused on both 1987 as a base and Skin Trade relevant, regardless of release date, therefore the two examples you cite as not being relevant are incorrect as the calendar is 1987 and the title of Working For The Skin Trade video is fairly obvious.
Edit: I should also add that my article and video only include items in my collection, and some of the other items you mention I don’t have.
i should have been clearer about how i phrased that - as whilst i obviously was saying that it didn't feel focussed enough to be solely about ST...
…conversely (which i should have also written) then it also wasn't broad enough to suggest that it was covering either everything from 87 or everything with a ST connection.
So, taking the examples i used, firstly the calendar was on sale via the FC in 86 & is Notorious styled, not ST styled - & it clearly ties in with most of the other Notorious merch sold via the FC in late 86 (like the various sized postcards & posters) - & then in stores throughout 87 (if not also late 86); so should they also have been in there?
Whilst 'if' the connection is simply that we all looked at it in 87... Well, we also looked at MEP & Secret Policeman's & the SB tour merch & the 88 calendar & other stuff that was actually first for sale that year.
This in mind then secondly, with WFTST, 'if' the video were supposed to be about everything remotely related to ST then "Strange Behaviour" is also directly quoting from ST - so, whilst noting that there's the italian pic disk, why are there then no merch from or articles about the tour?
Then i wasn't meaning to suggest that you *should* have all & everything in your collection, as that would be ludicrous.
instead, it was simply that i was struggling to think of examples of physical items that could have been added that would have worked for it being more highly focused - & those 2 promo VHS tapes are just things that i happen to own...
(that L'Oreal Live! CD 'might' also have been something to include btw - assuming you have a copy of course)
...which is why i then gave the example of stills from the video as something that would have been potential solution to better define it to ST.
Anyway, nothing was/is meant to be a 'get at' at all - & it was only because i was replying to blaahh that i commented at all.
Well, i'd looked at the video last night then it didn't seem worth potentially starting any kind of disagreement by commenting then... ...however it would have been slightly rude to reply to that post but completely ignore your video.
So i thought that giving a constructive opinion would be the best approach - but it's all just my opinion so...
