That's a bit more like it. Would prefer White Lines in the middle of the set as that's when I get thirsty...

5 minutes of silence preferable to White Lines... vaguely different setlist.

I don’t understand why they still ignore 15 years of their career in their set-list...at least we got electric barbarella during reunion tour with Andy Taylor on guitar...

My 21 year old son was with me at Aqua Caliente Thursday night and he asked why they don't play any Medazzaland songs. He likes Out Of My Mind so I we listened to all the different remixes I have for our drive home. I agree that DD shouldn't ignore tracks off of Pop Trash, Liberty and even Red Carpet Massacre once in awhile. There will never be a set list to please everyone but they should delve into their vast canon of songs to play along with the hits.

There should be a umm err Rock n Roll Fair Artist/Audience Association (RnRFAAA) where such an association makes it mandatory for artists to ensure or is that "police?" that artists play "at least" one song from every officially released album during gigs, otherwise the audience could take civil action for false expected/implied advertising??? A breech of the gig? or is that a breech of the RnRFAAA code?
If I had more time on my hands could start such an association up. LOL Perhaps in a couple of years when I retire ?
Umm yes it's true, I went out on the town last night with a group of good friends got home late and I'm feeling inspirational effects this morning. I must say my head is full of all these great ideas.
Now Im in need of a big breakfast !

Dave Grohl says this a lot at Foo Fighters concerts during his crowd banter... how he feels like playing one song off of every album and such. Then assuming the band even gets to that point, the fans still have say something about how he's still playing "just the singles" off those albums and not something that they haven't played in a long time, and so forth. In other words, there might have to be some other considerations to bind those bands in your association bylines there. Back on the topic of Duran, My friend just wrote me from the Vegas gig... F*ing Tempted!
Dumb! lolSo much for the Red Carpet Massacre representative there!

There will never be a set list to please everyone but they should delve into their vast canon of songs to play along with the hits. I hope you guys enjoyed the gig regardless & I get where you and your son are coming from. Over the years I've turned a friend and nephew onto DD & TBH it's mostly been the 90's > stuff. My mate was aware of the early 80s stuff yet loves the DD sound since early 80s to a greater extent. For my nephew who is now 25, much of DDs works were all pretty much foreign to him. They've both attended DD gigs based on my recommendation (RCM & AYNIN Tours) & I've often wondered what I would say if I was asked "why wasn't this song or that song been played from such n such LP?" Thing is, I haven't been asked. I guess the challenge is choosing 18 from aprox 160 and then weighing up the risk of mixing it up too much where much of the audience (non die hards) respond with "they didn't play many of their hits, won't be going to see them again" etc Having said that re the current set list there's aprox 8 of the 18 that are a mix of non top 10/album cuts. However I also (like duranman and his son) truly miss Out of my mind and if they would stick the likes of that in, it would commemorate/salute/nod the darker/alternative side to this band who happens to have no stylistic boundary over a 40 year period. I guess at the moment DD are going thru a more pop phase than art alternative rock phase considering IDWYL Tempted & LNITC are in the live mix. It's a current culture thing I guess. Don't both the Grunge phase and New Wave/New Romanticism phase seem such a long time ago?

I fully see why they do not play anything from ML or PT. Of the current line up only Simon and Nick were involved and Simon did not have his heart in these two albums as he has stated repeatedly. These songs probably remind him of the lows in his career and life, I have heard him talking about how he hated Someone else not me, his writer's block and there are of course the lyrics to Who Do You Think You Are. Plus both albums are the biggest flops in their career. There will be die hard fans in the audience who like these albums (especially in the US where Medazzaland was actually released) but not sure they will get a great audience response if they play Burried in the sand or Lava Lamp nowadays. Electric Barbarella is a different story as it is on Greatest, which will probably be the one CD that most attendees to DD concerts own.
I would not mind them playing OOMM though as this is a great song (and I am no fan of the album as everybody knows by now). But then again I would not mind seeing them play live anyhow, but this probably is not going to happen as I am not living in the US. The recent 'we made all the money we need' quote is obviously bollocks.

Also during the reunion tours we heard: Skin Trade (Andy played this so spot on that it convinces me that it likely is him playing on the album track) Hold Back The Rain Sound Of Thunder Tiger Tiger!! During a meet and greet in 2005 - someone next to me asked Nick what other songs they were thinking of doing live - he mentioned a few songs (HBTR, SOT as examples) and he also said that Andy was talking about doing the song "Michael you've got a lot to answer for" I was so swept up in meeting Andy and the band that I didnt think much of it at the time.
