Picked up a copy of the latest Australian GQ men's fashion mag with Mark Ronson on the cover.
MR is featured as one of the world's most stylish gentlemen and there's a feature of him in it.
He discusses his career, being a producer, success stories and life in general.
Naturally what I loved most is his article is a quote where he discusses his early career
"I played in bands and was a huge Duran Duran fan"
He also adds that as a kid his mum would dress him in new romantic 80's style clothes & allowed him to bleach his hair. (In a JT style I bet).
Now MR being a huge DD fan may not be much to us who know this about Mark, let's face it there's more to Mark than Amy W and Gaga, yet this article advocates DD to an audience who admire MRs art/works/style/production, think, are or want to be fashionable n cool and who will hopefully be intrigued and actually listen to some DD, thereby attain some understanding to what MR is on about while also get educated. Afterall Duran Duran is a form of education isn't it?
I like the fact that he can make such a statement without it being omitted from the article due to lack of space in the feature coz TBH I read too many such articles where DD aren't mentioned or perhaps are actually during the interview but omitted coz it's Mark in a short 10 question/answer type one page article or omitted because DD aren't Amy or Gaga.
IMO, Anyone playing & listening (or even dancing to) DD is......COOL !!!
