As I live my isolated COVID-19 life, I have been listening to a lot of vinyl as I pass the time. On a recent trip to Canada a few weeks ago, I picked up a few compilation albums that have Duran Duran or Power Station or Arcadia on them.
I have been noticing that many of these albums have alternate versions of the tracks. The first one I noticed had Notorious a the lead track, I was quickly caught off guard when the song started minus the "No No Nototious" line. I just listed to a cut up version of Rio off another compilation.
Has anyone experienced this? It is kinda neat to hear a different version of a song I have heard a million times.

Hhmm, interested!which compilation are they on? I have a Dutch compilation called Now Dance 2 opens with Notorious, also minus the “No-No”, but starting with “Notorious”. I always assumed it was crappy editing to put as much tracks as possible on the vinyl. I later bought the CD (after having sold my original LP), which had the same “edit”. It’s this one: www.discogs.com/Various-Now-Dance-2/release/679587

"The compilation includes Duran Duran's "The Reflex", a Canadian no.1 single released with a music video shot at the Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, on 5 March 1984 by Director Russell Mulcahy."
