Hello all! First post! As such, I feel the need to bring gifts. This is a super quick clip I took at the finale of the Paper Gods show at the Hollywood Bowl on 10-01-2015: And, being a bass-playin' lad myself, I felt the need to express my utter relief and appreciation that John was okay! My heart dropped when I heard he had tested positive. That was before I actually read the article and realized he had already recovered. Hope you like it.
And a BONUS: I am the lucky guy who John once mentioned someone directed him to when he couldn't remember what he'd done on Shadows on Your Side. I detail me finally introducing myself to him HERE. Very cool! I watched your video for Shadows...amazing! That bass part was pretty cool for that song so it was great to see you highlighted the technical aspects etc. Just curious, as a musician, did you find it odd that John sought out the video/info since he wrote and played the part? I guess I would have thought he could have listened to the bass track from the master tapes and kind of work through it from there as a refresher. Perhaps after all the work he has done over the years I suppose it may be hard to keep track in your head all the little nuances of every song!!

I would be much obliged if you show me where. I can't seem to find such a setting. I would also love a glass of that wine you're tempting us with.

I don't think it's too odd. As you suggest, you figure he would have access to the master tapes and go from there. However, even for him, looking up a YouTube video is probably far easier than getting that other whole machine rolling. In my humble career, even just listening to old demos I've done, I can definitely say that I run across material where I don't even remember having played it! This is especially true with one-off projects that conclude after a day or two in the studio.
Since Shadows was never a big live song (has it ever been played live?), he didn't have to (re)learn it. It could be as simple as that!

Then Notifications - you’ll find a list of options there. Hope that helps. Cheers!
