Reading about DYBIS within this thread got me wanting to see DDs Songbook performance
I couldn't help noticing that If you go 22.00 minutes in you'll SLB interrupt everyone and talk about someone who he truly believed in well that's how it comes across
And I know SLB missed JT once JT decided to split from DD and therefore the dynamic between nick and warren grew closer which to an extent upset SLB
however
Actually seeing SLB express his WC thoughts with emotion here (rather than reading his thoughts in a printed magazine where his visual expression would be missing), suggests that SLB in his own way SLB obviously and truly valued WC and his contribution to DD many years after WC considering WC hasn't been a member for some time.
Interestingly SLB suggests "WC is the closest thing we GOT (Opps) We had in the band to a virtuoso".
It suggests that mistakenly SLB thought WC was still present in DD
OR
was SLB wishful thinking a little?
Not sure why Andy isn't here ?.............LOL
In fact if theres "anyone out there" who hasn't seen this songbook episode and actually has the time I recommend you watch the whole thing, it a great thing to see DD discuss their creations then get up and play them.
I love how DYBIS and OW follow each other here.
Pretty good DYBIS performance too, love it's ending where Nick, the string section and Roger don't seem to want to let it go. SLBs vocal isn't bad here either.
Also love how with eyes closed Simon sings "Come Out" and adds "wherever you are" inviting the deceased to do so.
OMG it's goose bumps a plenty all over this boy as I lay on the Chesterfield sofa with me headphones mesmerised by the open fireplace as it heats me lounge room with its warm cosy glow on this freezing cold winters night, there's an actual storm out there this evening.
Thing is it's the little things in my life that are actually the big things !
Speaking of BIG THINGs.............it's a perfect time to listen to the LP IMO
