Greatest and latest 1998 at Glasgow Amarillo.
Took my girlfriend (now wife)who was not a fan and was literally embarrassed by how bad show was.
Crappy all seated venue with no atmosphere. Backing vocals and effects all pre recorded. Band going thru the motions with no alternatives to recorded material. Seemed really lacking with no JT. Stage design poor.
All in all that was me with duran until the reunion. Pop trash tour visited same venue, gave that and the CD a miss. My mates went and said it was really poor. End was definitely in sight.
Can't understand while some see this as a glory period with WaCu....it was absolutely dire.
Been since to reunion tour, Edinburgh castle for RCM and paper gods tour at hydro, Glasgow and no comparison

Never had a bad one as all my shows have been post reunion.
However, they were the headlining act at Boston’s big radio show, MixFest, back in 2003. Due to the show running way behind, I don’t think they took the stage until 11:00pm, at which point the venue started to thin out.
Nevertheless, they were amazing for those of us who stayed. And Every single act mentioned DD and how lucky they were to share a bill with them. Dido was especially effusive in her live for DD.
I was supposed to see them as a teenager during the Wedding Album tour but Simon blew out his voice before a Hartford show in October 1993.
I wish Boston gave DD the same love they show U2.

Only saw them twice, in 1988 and 2005, but the worst experience was the cancelled 2012 AYNIN show that was never refunded. Remember this was all before covid...
And I have seen clips of the 1997-2001 years and glad I did not have to experience that tribute band/karaoke affair in person. Those who love everything about the WC years will probably also enjoy this then:

Hi all. I have seen about 6 Duran Duran shows! All were great! I think the Astronaut tour with Andy coming back was the best! I think the Detroit show was the first date after his father had just passed. Just to see him live at that show was amazing! Not knowing he would leave in another year bummed me out for the second time. There was a lot of chemistry live with the Fab 5.. There were also a lot of Andy fans at the show at the Palace in Auburn Hills that evening. Many metal heads who were going crazy for Andy and were saying it was a great show! Andy always brought the rock to Duran Duran live..the only bad experience was that 90% of the fans were standing--we had a crappy couple behind of us, who were mad that we were standing and were complaining for us to sit down! Told them sorry this is a concert! They were clearly not fans and were mad because they wanted to sit for the whole show! Not gonna happen! They left early because we would not sit down! There was a good size I was able to meet Nick, Simon and Warren for the Let if Flow tour because I knew the girlfriend of Duran's bassist at the time was dating Wes Wehmiller (RIP) and she got us back stage passes at DTE...it was cool to finally meet that incarnation of the band..Joe Travers was drinking from the bottle of wine and Warren was trying to score his Menage a Trois with a couple of blonde models....Simon's voice was shot and was nodding, but took pics with us and he and Nick were signing everything and conversing with the fans! Cool set list for that Let if Flow tour: www.setlist.fm/setlist/duran-duran/1999/pine-knob-music-theatre-clarkston-mi-3bdbe014.htmlAs bad as everyone saying Paper Gods was not a good album--it was a great live show! Simon was in top form as he went thru the set list.. Dom was shredding the guitar but Nick wasn't there...did anyone ever know what his family emergency was? I know it isn't our business, but never knew the reason he was not with the band during many US city tour dates! Keep on rocking Duran! They do put on a great show when they are in form!

Let It Glow tour show at a casino in Mississippi - crowd was a total dud. Wasn’t the fault of the band. I actually felt bad for the guys.
