Not sure if anybody has seen this or previously uploaded this extract from Long Live Vinyl Magazine, March 2019 issue? I’ve been having a clear out and this copy nearly went in the bin today. LLV is also on its final issue. I will really miss this great, high quality magazine. ‘Reportage’ went back to Duran Duran’s club roots, only for Sony to reject the album in favour of the ill-fated ‘Red Carpet Massacre’ album. Andy left, citing the band’s “lack of direction”. Completely agree. It needs to be dusted off and listened to by the fans now.

It's remarkable that nothing has been leaked from this album. Almost as remarkable as its near-legendary status.
But the quote from Rhodesy is promising. Just so long as it doesn't get mixed too much.

new order had a similar issue when 'waiting for the sirens call' came out.
they had left over tracks, and it took a few years, and legal issues to clear up.
but an EP called 'lost siren's' made it out. it wasn't that good, but at least fans got to hear it.
i suspect, with all the hype, even it did get released, it wouldn't be as good as people expected. so that's another reason for it not to be released. there might be a couple of good songs on it, but probably not all of it.

Yes, unfortunately, I agree.

Apologies, I’ve been informed that this has already been covered a couple of times. Must have been while I was on holiday.

It could go either way. Look at an artist such as Prince that had an amazing vault of material that was not released or is just now being released. Amazing tracks. I would be shocked if there weren't at least 2-3 bangers on Reportage that are worth hearing.

Thanks for the pics links so I can read the article. I always imagined the album as dirty rock tracks, but this makes it sound like they were making Astronaut 2. Why would Sony trash the album if the songs were on the same vibe as Astro? I must be blind, but I cant see the wood for the timber.
