* Duran Duran music * Five Years video * New music

I did. Album cover is being worked on now. September 2021 is currently a working date for album release. Could have 1-2 songs released before Album, as soon as April?!?!? Album represents many eras of DD music.
His 4 classical albums will be released on the solstices and equinoxes...first one out in March. astrologica or Something like that is the name of the project with some Wendy lady

Wow. Some major news here. It appears to time nicely with the anticipation that Covid may be more under control by the summer although it is impossible to know what will happen with this epidemic.
Every sentence that asteroidk posted could be its own separate thread regarding discussions......

Representing many eras of DD music sounds like another uneven hotch potch box of chocolates to me. On the positive side I should love 3 of tracks, think 5 are ok and never play the rest again!!!!

Just stop with the stupid ‘Kafe’, less of the talk and just put some songs out. Who else does these idiotic kafe’s??
Paul Weller (The Jam) is another artist to the list who are releasing a second album in as many years. No announcements, no bullshit.
So DD are scared shitless to put one whole decent album out with guitar driven songs for fear of not tapping into a new American base of teen fans. No cohesion, another Paper Gods fiasco with a dash of AYNIN.
Where has the spirit and drive gone?
I’m genuinely happy for those who are desperate for this. For me the band lost their balls a long time ago.
All I see now is KK kissing DD’s ass. Somebody should be kicking their ass!

If September 2021 is a working date for release of the album it'll be 2022 before it sees light of day.

I am a big fan of contemporary classical music but am not looking forward to Nick’s vanity project in this area…
As for the new DD album: all new music is welcome but I also think a 2022 release will be more likely. Let’s wait and see. There must be at least a few decent songs to add to their cataologue.

So, if they're "supposedly" going to release this album in September, do you realize that come that month 10 years ago they released All You Need Is Now? What's more, in that span of 10 years (ten!!) they've only released 3 studio albums. I don't include live releases like Live! Rome, Live 2011 (A Diamond in the Mind), Budokan or Thanksgiving Live.
Now, compare Duran Duran to a group like the Pet Shop Boys (another fav group of mine). Before you say something like, "Comparing Duran Duran to the PSB is like comparing apples to oranges", there's really no difference between the two - they all have to write lyrics, compose the music, go through demo stages, etc. That being said, this is what the PSB have put out between 2011 and 2021 in terms of fresh new material: 5 albums (The Most Incredible Thing <score for a modern ballet>, Elysium, Electric, Super and Hotspot) - 2 EPs (Agenda and My Beautiful Laundrette <available with their self published book...and this is really geared towards the fans as another one is coming out this year!) and 17 singles (with mixes and / or b-side songs) that you could actually buy! Not only that, but they've had a smattering of other things they've released, like a new B-sides compilation. Oh yeah, and the Pet Shop Boys do also tour for their albums, so I won't buy "touring" as an excuse for not getting new stuff out.
Even if Duran Duran have a hard time squeezing the new stuff out, there's certainly a few albums that could benefit from the super deluxe edition treatment to keep people interested in the band's output of material...but I'm flogging a dead horse here.

Unfortunately the one member they need to kick them right up main street is missing - a ball's to the walls guitarist like Andy Taylor or Warren. So we're left with Nick fondling the band's ass.
