I went completely OUT OF MY MIND when they played it live in Amsterdam during the reunion tour in 2005.
It was my dream to hear them play it live and that is one that came true...they also played 'Make me smile come up and see me' another fave...that concert was truly amazing! Fond memories!
Well, I can’t hear what JT is playing, and isn’t it just a backing track? The only live part from what I can make out is the amazing sax. Don’t get me wrong, Tiger Tiger is a brilliant piece of music but I could listen to this at home off the album.
Have commented on TT 'live' before. I think only the sax and guitar is live and *maybe* the one-finger melody NR is playing. As soon as any chord kicks in NR reverts to good old miming again though.
Never particularly liked the song. Saw them play it in MSG 2005.

Exactly - does it matter where it’s played ‘live’?

Not sure why people think this is a backing track performance.
In my video, you can see JT is clearly playing the bass.
At 0:49 and 1:00 in Skinburn's video, you can see and hear Dom is playing the lead guitar.
On both recordings, 2011 and 2004, you can hear Nicks backing track is different, with more 'hand claps' in the second version.
Roger plays percussion live in both. Some of the backing drums are canned, but not sure if this was just the 'wooden block' sound, as it seems louder in some versions.
Here is another video, which shows more JT:
This one is spoiled by too much of Nicks 'chuffing' noises.
I think it is the Sax jam which elevates the song beyond the album version. I wasnt too impressed until the Sax took the song to a rich new higher level.
Roger even stands up to play it.

Roger is playing the handclaps. There are some live elements but over 80% is prerecorded. Not too sure JT’s bass can actually be heard, IMO he is miming as it sounds like a frettless bass (just like the album version).
It’s not a bad live version if you’re into this song. I’m not though.

I can hear JT is softly playing on top of the frettless bass. Dom is definately playing Andy's parts, because for one thing Andy would never give the rights to use them.
There is no doubt there is a backing track for this, but as all the band are playing over it, except possibly Nick, I'd say at least 50-60% is real.
One issue with the band is they play so tightly over their backing tracks, and in some cases so closely to the album versions, its difficult to know they are live sometimes. That's why I prefer the versions of the songs which dont sound like the album live, and are clearly re-workings. Unfortunately, while Warren and Andy were always racing to cover the stage with their spontaneous frilly guitar solos, Dom just doesnt take on that role. I can still hear he changes up his parts sometimes in this song, but its not very noticeable.
I was never much into this song, but I do like it. It reminds me of the Tel Aviv versions we got on the first album, although nowhere near as well done as those. At least its not Flute Interlude.

kirkddww: I plan to visit Greece in September and was hoping to meet some Duranies there. If someone from there could please reach out to me, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

classix: Both albums have good songs. the issue is more about the production and the fact that DD tried to depart from their style.

raggedtiger: Well I am enjoying it, I don't care what anyone says. But, does anyone know why Dolly and Simon are not doing a Duran Duran song? Everyone else is covering something of theirs, why not Simon?
