I hear you 100 percent Skinburn...I think there are other factors outside of even Nick’s control...Wendy, record company, waiting for Simon’s lyrics, Covid...I at least respect Nick here for being productive. I’m rather impressed actually Jeff, I’m happy you enjoy it! I’m here for DD though. They’ve had plenty of time to get things done. I think I have written plenty of posts about it elsewhere on this forum with examples of plenty of artists who’ve got things done. Honestly, I’m exhausted with it all. Enjoy Wendy Bevan’s music - or whoever she is. 😁 Lol. I didn’t even think about this. I meant Wendy Laister.

I'm impressed! There's a lot of continuity with The Universe Alone, which would fit nicely at the beginning or end of Astronomia I. Maybe not pure classical, but I'd call it orchestral with a dose of ambient, a futuristic soundtrack for an imaginary film. Great to hear those lush Arcadia-ish chord sequences! Some of the pieces end too soon and could stand for some creative fan extensions Nick on his own can't exactly choose when the next Duran album is released, and as his work on that is likely long since done, fair game to make a worthy pandemic side project.

If you don’t like «the great attractor» the rest of the album is hard to swollow after the first quick listen.
I really liked the first taste, but the rest of the album left me empty.

Not my thing at all. When is the musical with JT due? It's next up! (...more than likely😂) It will follow this official announcement from DD HQ about the 'forthcoming' Duran Duran album....... "When we met up again in the recording studio, we hadn't been together as a group in almost 18 months, and you know, we just weren't feeling this album anymore. The world had changed significantly, and the music and lyrics just didn't seem as relevant, as when we originally started to write it, many years ago. So we decided that the best thing to do, was to resign it to the vaults, and we'll maybe revisit it some time in the future. So we're going to take a break from things, and meet up again early 2022, and begin to get some new ideas together....."

ada.lnk.to/Astronomia-IIm late as always to the party. I gave them all a good listen and there are some nice tracks there. Its good that this was released for free, so everyone can hear the whole album and not just the snippets. I think the words on DD.com sum it up. "Each individual piece is a sonic painting, a tapestry of rich textures and haunting melodies forming soundscapes with an otherworldly atmosphere.". I was worried that this would be another dive into the grungy surreal world of Medazzaland, but in fact its not. Oceans of Titan stands out and has a Bladerunner feel to it. If anything, fans of Vangelis or Tangerine Dream will know what to expect. Basically a watercolour of moods and harmony's. If anything its not really pretentious at all, which might be surprising to Nick haters on here. I felt the first half/side carried the bulk of the stormy weather, but not in a twisted way - thankfully. The second half/side was more the windswept hills type of thing. Not bad, might give it some more plays actually.
