Never seen this before. It’s only about the sounds the keys generate, not the actual playing though.

A great breakdown of Nicks style for musicians, but way too technical for me.

A great breakdown of Nicks style for musicians, but way too technical for me. Like I said, it just describes how to create the sound effects, it’s not about his playing style of creating the chords or the melodies. Basically how one would program a synthesizer or which preset sound you should be looking for in the sound bank. Attack and decay describe how a key sounds if you press and release it (eg string synths sounds have a long attack, they fade in from soft to loud, for instance the string synths in American Science) and decay is how the note ends, abrubtly or lasting for a bit if you stop playing a key (sustain). Synth stabs are the orchestral stabs eg at the beginning of AVTAK, made famous by Trevor Horn. Those were however creating by programming them into a Fairlight II if i’m correct, not played on an actual synth keyboard. If the title was “How to play guitar like Jimi Hendrix” the equivalent answers would be something like ‘get a Fender Stratocaster with a Vox wah pedal for Voodoo Chile’…

Do you have anything you can share with us? Anything Duran related?

But nothing to share, no.

Or just slam the keys with the sides of your hands at random moments!
(see that hilarious vid of them performing Wild Boys on Italian tv if you don't get the reference.)
