No, they initially released unreleased live concerts. Pirating is releasing official material available from regular releases. what if its promo or out of print material. the band wouldnt care about those. later -1 Hm, not sure they wouldn’t care. EMI/Warner certainly would. I don’t want to diss the FC as they have done great work but I do not see any value in reproducing promos. The idea of a promo release is that it is orginal, isn’t it? Not a counterfeit. Ebay is filled with counterfoet ‘promos’. Medazzaland and Pop Trash are out of print, doesn’t mean you can faithfully reproduce them and sell them.

For that kind of commitment why shouldn't they get paid? In fact the artist should say Thankyou to them - they should be bloody honoured.

When attending record fairs as a lad if you saw bootleg albums of a band or artist then you knew they they had a credibility over other artists. All the major labels have had to relent and officially release many tracks or live albums due to their popularity with the fans.

I remember going to my first record fair in 1989 (wished I’d discovered them sooner). It was the day before my first DD show at Bournemouth - so I was a virgin by both accounts! What a great way to break myself in when I stumbled across The Finest Hour!! It was in mint, pristine condition. Big Bang Records - how very appropriate! Lol. 20 quid Thankyou very much! Sure, the sound quality was awful but who gived a f___ when everybody was swapping live cassettes sourced from audience recordings at the time?
