We cannot forever live in fear of this, otherwise we will be doing this forever. Everything in nature changes- at a certain point we just have to get on with our lives...unfortunately the scientists would have us locked up indefinitely. Yes, authorities continue to move the goalposts. Our economy needs to recover. Can’t recover the economy until you get ahead of the virus! We did a horrible job from day 1! Australia closed for 7 weeks! They are now thriving! Filling 65k stadiums, hitting beaches and enjoying life once again and guess what ..no masks! Great leadership ! Contact tracing! Good testing! For a civilized nation we are the worst here in America!

This is alarming! www.cidrap.umn.edu/news-perspective/2021/03/michigan-minnesota-see-covid-19-variant-increasesNew research suggests that the U.S. could have kept COVID-19 deaths around 292,000—well below the 547,000+ deaths the U.S. has reached as of March 26, 2021—had there been unified adoption of mask-wearing, physical distancing, and testing guidelines by May 2020. In research released at a Brookings Institution conference, economics Prof. Andrew Atkeson of the University of California, Los Angeles projects that a total of about 672,000 people will die in the U.S. as a result of COVID-19. If that projection is correct, then a unified response under former Pres. Donald Trump could have saved about 380,000 lives.

Everything in nature changes- at a certain point we just have to get on with our lives...unfortunately the scientists would have us locked up indefinitely. Yes, authorities continue to move the goalposts. Our economy needs to recover. But, as with my earlier comment about "scientists", what exactly has the rescheduling of the gigs in the UK got to do with "authorities continuing to move the goal posts"? Don't get me wrong, if you actually believe that a small government, free market capitalist economy where none of us give a toss about each other is the best thing ever then that's your call... ...but it's not the "authorities" over here that's said that any of the late-June early July gigs can't happen at this point, but the companies/organisers/promoters making their own commercial decisions... ...which is exactly what should happen under a laissez faire economic model.
Whilst, likewise, if you want to hold that, once something's said then no matter how circumstances might change then it must be then it must be stuck to dogmatically no matter what happens then i might find it naive... (i mean at a point i thought that songs like Green Door, Pass The Dutchie, Puss'n'Boots & We All Stand Together were the best songs ever, whilst Duran simply didn't register as being interesting at all... ...& don't get me started on how i cruelly discarded incy Wincy Spider & The Wheels On The Bus... ...so clearly i'm just a flip-flopping liberal who stands for nothing) ...but it's also completely irrelevant to these UK gigs being rescheduled - as there has been no "moving of the goal posts" (aka "the roadmap") to cause this.

Everyone here is wearing masks, but hey Orange man is bad, lol. You'd be surprised what the human body is capable of along with utilizing natural healing. I find it wile that SLB's brother is an Osteopath, that's so cool. On the flip side, I have family in Florida, guess what, everyone's fine. I'm in one of the harder hit areas and the biggest issue we have is suicide, children as young as eleven. Our hospitals aren't seeing Covid patients, it's these children. So when it comes to a festival being pushed off, that's nothing compared to a child right now wanting to kill themselves. Just trying to keep in perspective. Deep breath...

Imagine if he got ahead of it ! Not sure what news you are watching.. Florida is the 3rd worst state in deaths and cases! We wouldn’t be here if he had a plan!!! Add the idiot spring breakers it will only mean more cases and deaths! And just the other day 150 died from Covid in Florida! The fact we never took this seriously and still don’t will not allow us to get back to normal! Just because you or your family aren’t going thru thisdoesn’t mean it’s not happening!!! You have to realize that many who get Covid aren’t dying but experiencing ongoing health issues that aren’t going away!!! My cousin is a : supervisor in a large hospital.. things were heading in the right direction a month ago.. we had less than 1k cases now over 6k a day and hospitalizations are back up and deaths! People are getting lazy again not masking up! Nice weather people start letting their guard down... But then again he said 15 down to 0! It will magically disappear in April! Maybe he meant this April?? We are rounding the corner! Only Buffoon to make a world health crisis political! Pathetic! I applaud other countries who had good leadership a plan and effective testing and tracing! They are back to normal! We aren’t! www.wfla.com/community/health/coronavirus/florida-coronavirus-state-reports-5143-new-cases-107-new-deaths/amp/

Not sure what much of this general conversation has to do with gigs being postponed in the UK... So, are you saying that there were fewer than 2,975 deaths from covid in Florida last year?
Likewise, i am sure you're aware that there's been a general up tick in suicides by younger people from ~2007 onwards...
(there's very limited evidence that it 'may' be partially linked to social media usage, but the jury's out on that) ...but that increase clearly predates the pandemic where you've got a downturn... ...&, with only 2,975 deaths in Florida last year, it doesn't take much for a handful of cases to cause a blip - & then, if you don't look at what the numbers actually mean, it's too easy to fall victim to the latest media led moral panic.
Now, whilst i personally believe in an individual's right to die, it's really not great that people get to the point where things are too much for them to bear (& ~20 years ago that was me); esp when there isn't support & treatment readily available - just endless waiting lists... ...so rather than seeing the provision of extra mental health services & an uptake of people engaging as a negative, it is very much a positive imho. Otherwise, if the "You'd be surprised what the human body is capable of along with utilizing natural healing" were in any way true... ...why wouldn't this also apply to mental health issues? Well, (from a cursory google search) with essential oil sales having been booming from 2015(ish) onwards in Florida - surely everyone in the state would now effectively be immortal?
[Edit] Oh, & my 1st dose went as planned earlier - which i'm really pleased about... ...so goodly Oxford-AstraZeneca coursing through my veins.

If you mean Cuomo when you say he was the only one taking action...you better read up on the NY nursing home situation... I did! Maybe someone higher up shouldn’t have told Woodward 5x’s worse than the flu and then went golfing and downplayed it! Buck stops here? We had a pandemic playbook that was totally ignored.. maybe just maybe had someone taken it seriously there wouldn’t be a nursing home issue! Hope you don’t think the previous orange moron in charge did such a good job?? We are the worst in deaths and cases in the world on his watch!!!! I live about 5 minutes from the Governor's mansion...I will stop down there today and tell him he has one believer left...

Australia is still closed, with ten thousands of Aussies around the world who cannot go home and have been trapped abroad for a year now. And don't forget it's a big island that only has about 3 million more inhabitants than my country The Netherlands (which is less than half the size of Tasmania). It's a lot easier to beat this virus in regions that are not densely populated than in densely populated areas like Europe.
