Girls & Boys was my gateway Blur track. I think Coffee & TV might be my favorite!
I’m cautiously excited but not bowled over by the name Invisible. I still can’t wait to hear it though.

If I've learned anything from DD it's to never judge a song by it's title. But I do like Invisible as a song title. I won't dare speculate on what its about. Hopefully a bit cryptic and not too straightforward.

I have yet to listen to a full Blur album - I only know well (and absolutely love) three of their singles, one of which is Coxon-less (Tender / Music is My Radar / Out of Time). So I'm in for a surprise, whatever which way!

So I'm in for a surprise, whatever which way! You should really start with their first album and go from there to hear their musical progression, etc. For me, their first 4 albums - Leisure, Modern Life Is Rubbish, Parklife and the Great Escape - are brilliant. I felt their fifth and self titled album Blur was more withdrawn, despite having a track like Song 2. That album and anything afterwards was hard for me to get my arms around. They had some great B-sides and remixes from the first four albums.

Somewhat of a spoiler alert here regarding the single from Roger in the Kafe....
Says the John/Roger groove is “industrial” sounding...both he and Katy agreed if they had to put this song on a previous album it would be AYNIN.
Very encouraging from my point of view.

All very promising. Ironically its Blur's bass player who was the big DD fan. I watched an interview with Coxon discussing Girls and Boys and he admitted that the bass line was highly influenced by John Taylor.
There was chat about a year ago about a stand out single from the recording sessions and Nick said as much the other night, so this is the same track they've been hyped about for a long time.

Be interesting to see what they do in the way of promotion for the new single. Can see Radio 2 having a big hand in that and playlisting it, especially as their Duran 40 programmes have been pushed back to the middle of May.

It certainly would be sensible to try to capitalize on the other programming to help build interest / momentum....let’s hope there is a ‘master plan’ that is about to unfold....

More good info on the Katy Kafe with Roger: > Ronson tracks still not complete > Was supposed to film a video around Roger’s bday (now) but it was pushed back > The two Mororer tracks are among his favorites > Coxon plays on “a lot” of the album I don't know about you, but I'm getting pretty darn excited for Invisible!
