You Kill me With Silence makes totally sense to me. If you've ever been in a narcistic relationship every line of that song makes sense.

You Kill me With Silence makes totally sense to me. If you've ever been in a narcistic relationship every line of that song makes sense. It’s not the meaning behind the lyrics that is being questioned or criticised - it’s more the type of music used to portray the lyrics. I know somebody very close who was married to a narcissist - and he made her life hell throughout their twenty year marriage which has now dissolved. It’s not good enough that the song only appeals to a small percentage of people. The band need to work harder and dig deeper to find something that works to sell their music to a wider audience than just DD fandom.

This thread has prompted me to listen to Beautiful Colours, had not heard it for a while and it is truly a hidden gem.

You are absolutely right, and I stand corrected. Bedroom toys is worse. I just love how negative the OP is toward Beautiful Colors but had neglected to mention how poorly it compares to the massive Duran anthem from the Astronaut album - Bedroom Toys Absolutely no comparison in my view I think that puts any argument to bed

Perhaps they should fuse Beautiful Colours and Bedroom Toys together into one song, as a B side to Interlude One.

You Kill Me With Silence, Last Night In The City and Other People’s Lives are all inferior DD songs that had no place on their respective albums. Beautiful Colours and Salt In The Rainbow are good but incomplete songs.
