Coldplay might be the biggest active band in the U.K. If you had to go on sales alone worldwide, they wouldn’t be in the top 50, and neither would Duran. If you had to go with a biggest selling band that’s still around, that would probably be AC/DC or Aerosmith. But that doesn’t sound right either.

I hope it’s not tomorrow based on the lack of promo / tease / energy thus far. I continue to think Simon will indicate he’s going to preview it on his show a week in advance of doing so….with the hope that some other bits will show up in the press during that one-week run up.

Yes, the band would be smart to hype the release date in advance to generate some buzz, much like Coldplay is doing. As Skinburn said, it isn’t hard. Updating social media and the band’s website is cheap and easy. Here’s hoping that’s the plan.

I didn’t say they were *thee* world’s biggest band - they are *one* of the biggest bands in the world. It doesn’t matter that their music is similar. Why fix something that ain’t broken? Their albums sell massively and no matter how much Chris Martin gets on a minority of people’s nerves, Coldplay’s music continues to be enjoyed by the masses. There is a world outside of the USA..and super bowl - and Coldplay know how to market themselves. I’m not crazy on Coldplay so you don’t have to preach about how average their melody’s are. But I do respect how forward thinking they are. My taste in music is very eclectic and I won’t discriminate because of an artist’s principles or agenda. My original point is that Duran Duran are no longer the force they once were - and that doesn't really matter to me. It’s the main reason why the management must work harder at promoting the band if they want a bigger slice of the pie. The radio station that the op was referring to, alluded that a new song was coming from ‘one of the world’s biggest bands’. Sorry, but if they are referring to Duran Duran then they need to brush up on their market research.

I was starting to get excitd. Be nice to have something sort of out the blue in a Bowie type of way (almost) until I realised Coldplay were in the mix. Birmingham based radio station making a big thing of a once almighty Birmingham band would have been great. Maybe just not right now. Tomorrow never comes!

There is a skit on SnL where the great Christopher Walken the Bruce Richard-enson thee Richardenson says he needs more cowbells! The same goes for Coldplay.. every single one of their songs needs MORE GUITARS!!! There is hardly any guitar sound in Coldplay!

Ironically, Coldplay's new song is produced by a guy whom John Taylor admitted in an interview in 2016 he would love to work with. His name is Max Martin (Swedish producer) and he also produced The Weekend' most recent massive hits. "Higher Power" (=new Coldplay song) even has a "Blinding Lights"-sound. Can't blame JT but hope DD15 won't be chasing trends like Coldplay is doing right now.

So “tomorrow” came and went… Very invisible indeed.
