I am bothered by this semantics problem. Since bands no longer release music the way they did 20+ years ago, there aren't really any "singles". There are released tracks. Some tracks are released via leak. Some can be "released" when the artist performs them live. Some are released in a more traditional way.
Just because something is or isn't being promoted as a single, that doesn't mean it's anything more or less than some other released track. The only time someone might want to think of something as a single is if it's a different version to what will be on the album. That makes sense. Otherwise, who gives a flip?

It’s described on DD social as a single. Best not to trust info until it comes from the horse’s mouth.
