I think some fans here over-rate Duran Duran's contribution to music. NOTE - THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT DURAN DURAN ARE NO GOOD. DURAN DURAN ARE BRILLIANT. IT'S SOME FANS' ROSE-COLOURED GLASSES THAT ARE NO GOOD. Duran Duran were never really about huge, mega sales. They never had a song that still gets solid rotation to this day, they never had a hit like Karma Chameleon, Girls Just Want To Have Fun, or Total Eclipse Of The Heart which defined the 80s and which everyone still recognises. A few came close - Hungry Like The Wolf still has cred, and Girls On Film made a stir, but there was no Billy Jean, or Holiday, or Wake Me Up Before You Go Go, that would get automatic pride of place at any 80s party. Duran were no slouches. Is There Something I Should Know was unusual and debuted at number one, plus of course they had The Reflex, and some number twos in Save A Prayer, Wild Boys, and A View To A Kill. But even though there are a million acts who would die for two UK number ones, and three UK number twos, Duran still didn't sell quite as well as some other acts. But they were popular, their videos were popular, their concerts were popular, and magazines which featured the lads were popular. Duran Duran are a great 80s band. But they are not quite upper echelon like Michael Jackson and Madonna, and they will always have the "good looking Bee Gees curse" attributed to them, so of course most publications are not going to highlight Duran unless they really have to.
PS - Andre, I know you're itching to reply and say how most of those mentioned songs suck, and that Duran were much better. That's fair mate, but I'm just basing that observation on the other 7.6 billion people in the world.

MJ is dead and no longer making music ! He couldn’t handle the pressure! Madonna’ s last concert was horrible and hadn’t had a hit in years! So yeah Duran is still making good music and playing great shows IMO!!! It’s the live shows! That’s what it’s all about! You are right ! I took the bait! MJ’s death is a tragedy ! He took Propofol to sleep 😴! Couldn’t take a warm glass of milk 🥛 or Ambien ! I think his legacy was tarnished! It’s a tragedy !!!! Just like Prince , Elvis , and Whitney! Drugs are no joke!!! Most of these artists in the end were weak and needed drugs to cope!

Madonna the queen of auto tune .. Madonna the queen of auto tune ..I am going to get killed by Pop Trash in saying this because I know he loves Eurovision and Madonna! You can't tell me Madonna was great on this performance! She is NO Longer in the upper echelon with this kind of performance...sorry but if you are going to sing live ON A SHOW like this YOU BETTER NAIL IT!!! HORRIBLE!!! Her vocal coach’s reaction priceless..

Of course I have to throw this one in then: Touche! And then right back at you! If you are going to be on Eurovision you better bring it! And Madonna didn't bring it!!! What if Duran played back to back shows--he strained his vocal chords--was smoking..drinking? His voice was clearly compromised! Maybe Warren was posting more porn pee nudie videos on Porn Hub..I know if my guitarist was putting Christmas lights in hotel rooms and wasn't leaving the room and Bopping all day...I would be upset..wouldn't you??? You knew during this time he was not happy with this Duran incarnation and it was slowly dying..but come on Oakey you need to give him kuddos for this! No?
