Gary Stringer is great! Used to love hearing Reef. Proper frontman with a good westcountry voice too. He is a HORRIBLE singer! He can't sing in tune and he has got to be the WORST frontman ever! Come on...you think he can sing? ?? He Frickin butcher's WILD BOYS...heskethbang are you sure you can hear? Come on Man!! I’m not interested in how he sings Duran songs any more than I’m interested in how Le Bon sings Led Zeppelin or Public Enemy. It’s a genre crossover. I’m enjoying your indignation though….

But he sucks singing REEF/solo songs too! He sings every song like this! I have heard better from lead singers....Bob Dylan is hands down the worst--this guy is catching up..WTF is he doing at 2.38 in? I am embarrased for him.. Sometimes you give singing a try and if it doesn't work you take your licks and you go on to something else! But he is BAD!

oh god. you take 2 iconic duran songs and you simply murder them. awful remakes man. ps what is that shit that PG is a bad album? i mean i dont like Change the Skyline and sunset somethin but many gems on that album. please if you dont like certain sounds or songs that doesn't make an album bad. for example love this Ok.. it’s a mediocre album for me. Five songs at the very most are listenable. And to say it’s a better album than anything else they’ve ever done is simply a travesty of justice… except RCM lol.

This is what it's all about: The album entered the UK albums chart at number 5, becoming their 9th Top 5 album overall and making them one of only a handful of bands who have scored Top 5 albums in four consecutive decades. In the US it entered the Billboard 200 at number 10 and became their first top 10 album since 1993's Duran Duran (1993). In Italy, the album peaked at number 2.

I don’t have anything super negative to say. It’s cool he’s singing these songs but the performance is not up to snuff. It’s fairly bad. There are cover bands that honestly do a better job.

Meh.... it's 'ok'.... I really dislike this 'trend' of cutting songs before they are complete (obviously to fit more in). I was really looking forward to hear Andy play the middle sections of both songs. I particularly love the middle of HLTW, with Andy's guitar (and JT's bass, of course). The Arena version of HLTW is my favourite! This is a safe, dull performance. Nothing exciting at all unfortunately. Reef are no Duran Duran!!!

Paper Gods sold only 25k in its first week in the US, which is even bellow Medazzaland’s entry. It managed to stay in the chart for only 4 consecutive weeks. It peaked at #10 because DD fanbase, albeit small, are more prone to buy physical albums and downloads. Newer generations don’t buy music. I bet you Future Past will do as good as Paper Gods. Probably somewhere between Top 10 - Top 20, but for only to last a month in the charts. Still, there’s no bad publicity. So a top ten album can definitely give the band some positive exposure.

Totally cool with Andy playing duran songs with Reef. The majority of Duran’s best song were built around his riffs. I’d have him back in the band in a heartbeat.
+1

We were talking about the quality of the songs in PG. You are talking about charts. Disconnected topics.
