I find it ironic in a good way that a lot of us , me included, were almost certain this would be a disaster but turned out to be a fav of the released so far. Gotta love DD still able to surprise us. đŻ

fna692002, I was definitely in the trepidation camp with this collaboration. Iâm not sure why my initial thoughts were a âChaiâ song with Duran Duran âfitting in somewhereâ. Not very logical as I came to a quick conclusion that it would be a Duran Duran song with Chai fitting in,,,,, it works in my humble opinion.
Been playing it since 1am âdown underâ and apart from the Le Bonâs start I think itâs solid and catchy as well. As a punter, I still wouldnât be crossing the gap to follow Chaiâs music path even with this collaboration.
Good call as well on the lads still being able to surprise us! Looking forward to what comes next and whether the âother song name leaksâ were real or herrings.

Hmmmnnn,,, I do recall saying in previous posts that I personally would be happy to be proven wrong and as such this is the case with my view on âMore Joyâ. I was also willing to express my train of thought on possible collaboration.
It would be an interesting timeline of debate if Duran Duran were approached by Yoko Ono ( obviously never happened) after letâs say Rio to do a collaboration and what various views and thoughts would be.
Your New fave Girl band Chai?? good for you, serve yourself another cup of what they are offering if you like. I personally will still take a big pass on their âFlavourâ.
You may/ may not intend to come across as a bit of a smug bastard. But I would happily see other posters on here discussing their robust, passionate views rather than hiding in a snowflake shelter. It would be a pretty dull forum otherwise.
Keynes once penned, âwords ought to be a little wild, for they are the assault of thoughts on the unthinking.â

Wonder who else will eat humble pie having been so adamant this would have been a disaster and whom will show accountability as a trait and say - shit, you never can judge a book by its cover hey. Let's keep this happy thread happy, focusing on the great new song, and not bring in personal issues from other threads (Of course if you don't like More Joy - that's cool too! Would be interesting to hear from any fans who really dislike the song as well, and what parts in particular?)

Let's keep this happy thread happy, focusing on the great new song, and not bring in personal issues from other threads I screwed up the quote. This is still coolbarn "(Of course if you don't like More Joy - that's cool too! Would be interesting to hear from any fans who really dislike the song as well, and what parts in particular?)"
I liked the song. But I really didn't enjoy the audio contributions of the feature artists. I think what I like about it is that the collaboration inspired a unique sound and direction that Duran might not have taken, had they not worked with that group. So, I really like where they went with the song. But it also solidified my thoughts on that genre of music. It's absolutely not for me.

Well said Zealous, I think you articulated better the efforts by Chai and overall sound result. In fairness Duran Duran chose to work with them ( there are a plethora of other Japanese bands that have current new wave influence that they could have worked with but chose to offer collaboration with Chai. They saw something creatively they had they wanted to work with.
Could Chaiâs singing parts have been done by some other band?, absolutely for better or worse. In someway their parts are more muted in tone to their own more brash precocious offerings. But overall their backing works well into the collage of overall sound.
Some of Japanese bands I uncovered while looking at other forum member postings on Chaiâs songs were pretty cool sounding and struck more of a resonance with me than the Girl Band did. I may well follow up on some of these Japanese acts and not Chai. Each to their own in the end.

Coolbarn .. forget all that .. we want to know where did you get your computer ? Did you build it? It looks like something a DJ would use to spins records and CDâs! What did that thing cost??? $$$$ đ Haha, I built it myself. Most of the parts come from the local computer store, but I had to find a few things online to finish it off. As for costs, well yes it was expensive. I am not rich - for years I supported a wife and two kids on an average wage, living from paycheck to paycheck. I did get 4 months pay from a redundancy two years ago, but other than that, I just scrimp and save.
I don't buy too much, don't do drugs, and don't drink too often, but computers are my "thing". Like Duran Duran, my family, and my friends - it brings me much happiness. I have a decent sound system connected to it as well Just don't ask me to list the order priority of the above items. Not if you want me to keep them
