I got my puppy today and he is an absolute dream. I do have a dillemma though. He last went pee at the breeders at 3:00 in the afternoon. It is now 9:00 at night and I don't think he's peed at all. He doesn't lift his leg, so it's hard to tell, but I don't think he did. We just spent 1/2 an hour brushing him and he is now sound asleep on the floor.
What do I do? I was planning on taking him for a last walk at around 11:00 and then putting him in his crate. I don't want to wake him up, but then what will happen during the night?
HELP!

I took him out again twice and he still didn't go pee. I am really tired, so I put him in his crate and hated to do it. He was sound asleep on my lap

I don't know if it's the same thing but when I got my first kitten she didn't pee for a long time, someone told me you had to get their butts wet and then they would go. But cats are a little different than dogs.
Good luck.

has he drank anything or eaten? I'd get up in the middle of the night to take him out. ..he could just be a little stressed and he may have gone somewhere you just missed...it happens! don;t worry about waking him up to go out...i know they look all peaceful and stuff but he will go back to sleep. CONGRATULATIONS on your new puppy and keep us posted.

Awwww CONGRATS!!! Yeah, you might want to get up in a few hours and take him outside again. New puppies are so much fun but you also lose a lot of sleep too. Don't be afraid to wake him up either, he's going to be sleeping a lot. Eat play sleep ahhhh the life of a dog.

Mine did the same thing when we first got her, but she was seven months old at the time. I agree with sixthandbroadway...could just be the stress of being somewhere new. Mine didn't drink much the first few days either. Congrats on your new" baby" !

I don't have any dogs. I have two cats and I was worried the first few days I got them as well.
Wondering wether they drank and sleep enough.
I always ended up worrying so much that I forgot to enjoy the company of my new friend. In the end things always turned out right.
Just enjoy having a new puppy and don't worry too much!

I went to thim this morning (5:00) and he was dry. We went outside to go potty and again, it doesn't seem like he went. However, he does stop to sit down. I think since he's not a leg lifter, he may be doing his business and I just can't really tell.
He was WONDERFUL last night. He barely whined or barked at all. Now he is curled up on my lap. He is either the best puppy in the entire world or this is the calm before the storm.
