It works both ways then AT has demonstrated āwith actionsā his ālevelā of DD commitment in 86 & then again in 06 Iām sure if the current DD members coulda been there, they woulda Here we are again with the only argument available to those who constantly criticize Andy. OK. He left twice. And what?. I want him as the band's guitarist. I don't care if he's there for a month and a month off. Look for another argument, that one doesn't work for me anymore. Additionally, you can be friends with someone and not be able to work together because you do not agree with the direction of the company. In your original post you said āFrienship must be demonstrated with actions, not with words. At least Simon should have been there in the audience. That would have not overshadowed to Andy and it would have been a true gesture of friendship. That is what I thinkā I was sharing what I think which includes both sides of the equation and includes ATs level of commitment to DD over the past 40 + years as a factor Iām not looking for another argument at all, after all this is a DD fan board and not a sole āonce upon a timeā specific DD member fan board I would have loved AT to have hung around but he never had it in him, did he ! If you donāt understand the possibility of ācause and effectā when relationships break down, split which includes business relationships as in DD & ATs case I canāt help you AT recently admitted he canāt work in any band, whose fault is that ? & tbh I donāt see it as a fault but rather a personality trait after reading his book If dd choose to have AT play on their LPs like a session type musician these days, itās probably due to ATs choice which is reflects his past history eg AT leaving on both previous occasions and not just one whoās choice is it that AT has only played on 5 original LPs thus far ? how can you not see both sides of the cause and effect perspective? and for the record off course I wish AT all the best with his cancer treatment and anyone else for that matter, rock star or not, a speedy recovery in the same way which Nile R is a x2 cancer survivor has kicked cancers butt and is still at it performing and recording With that said Iām seeing Nile n co this Saturdayā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦canāt wait !

Some crazy comments on this thread telling Andy he should sing all the songs or Simon should be there or why is Robert Plant there? It is in such bad taste.
Andy has a terminal illness. He holds a concert for cancer awareness and gets one of his childhood heroes to play. He gets a chance to play the legendary Stairway to Heaven with the original front man. This will be a dream come true for him, as it would be for most guitarists of his generation. You can see the joy in his face. That's all that matters. Peoples personal preferences are out of place on this thread.

i never understand what is the problem in expressing an opinion.
imo it would be great if Simon sung the 2 songs.
is it the end of the world that he wasnt present? No it isnt.
Do i like Led Zeppelin. No i dont and i dont have to.
Do i have to supress my taste? No i dont have to.
that is the beauty of this board. Different people with different tastes and dif opinions all the time.
the problem lies in comments like the place is full of needy people.
well Skin i can say the exact thing about you and others.
But i wont do it as i m never interested on why people choose to comment on this board.
those kind of comments are unnecessary.

Andy mentioned while introducing the rest of the band that he had injured his hand a few days prior, and by great fortune ran into the ex-Reef guitarist who took about 1 second to agree to join in and play. It was a very intimate show, what a fun night to be out and listen to great songs and have Robert Plant and Ella Henderson join. I never heard of Ella before - she belted out 2 great numbers!

Robert Plant played Stairway because of 6 figure donation! consequence.net/2023/10/robert-planet-stairway-to-heaven-charity-donation/Last weekend Robert Plant sang the iconic Stairway To Heaven at a charity show in Oxfordshire. It was Plant's first public perforrmance of the song since Led Zeppelin's Celebration Day show in 2007, and guitarist Kenwyn House has now revealed that the performance was prompted by a six-figure donation to the charity.
