I'm not taking sides here however sometimes there are way too many posts saying the same thing. I sometimes wonder if we could collectively make this forum more a database for specific information, at least in part. I started a thread a while back asking for insight into why Sterling left the band. There were loads of contributions with different insights and collectively it, not only answered my question as best it could (none of us really know), but drew loads of quotes and stories I was unaware of. No arguments, no slagging each other off. There was a similar thread about the Notorious album timelines and it too was highly informative and with the super fans detective skills drew together a proper idea of the timelines. Its okay to have a difference of opinion but when its the same tired arguments it gets pretty tedious. Happy to hear if anyone feels the same. It never worked, which is why Wikipedia(s), Facebook, and others made message boards go extinct. And now ChatGPT will accelerate their extinction. If new users have to argue with old users, then what's the point. It's better to ask the AI, which will patiently answer your questions. So let's stick to what we have and don't blame new users for asking boring questions or that Andre has created too many new threads with links to interviews. It is better to add links to interesting threads on this forum to the DD-wiki. IMO, a forum will never function like a database...

How many times has Skinburn quit or been removed from this forum? I wonder if the guy is bipolar. While deleting his account is probably the right thing for him, it also comes across as passive aggressive. Sometimes he has insightful things to say but other times he's unnecessarily negative and/or mean. I don't mind constructive criticism--I provide plenty of it myself--but he tends to be light on the constructive part and heavy on the critical part. If he's smart, he'll come back with a completely new name and try to keep his comments positive and constructive. I'm just not sure that he can help himself. He seems to hate DD (since Simon fired Warren) and at the same time he hates other fans for not hating DD. Hence the constant depreciation of DD. It was like a NME journalist in disguise trolling DD message board. I know, I'm simplifying too much... However, his recent departure surprised me, I was rather sure that he would not do it again. I won't mind if he comes back, maybe next time everyone will live happily ever after

As I’ve said and I’ve defended John he was lovely the one time I met him and spent time with him and his wife. Right now he seems more of a DD with Warren fine than a DD fan. It must be hard, it did love the band- crikey he’s got a tattoo sleeve celebrating them.

If you don't like something/someone, then just move on to the next subject or post. No need to provide negative commentary.

Yes, he said its the next thing in their agenda, to finish and release Reportage! Good. This mirror's Simon's comments. I'm optimistic for a late 2024 release.

The thing here is all the band members are mentioning it so they must have already gone over all the recordings quite recently and decided they can see a way to complete an album out of it. There's been a few comments about seeing what's there or not heard it in years, which is obviously part of the mystique. They wouldn't announce it, then open the vaults, discover its a bit of a shit show and then cancel it. MY guess is that its a bit further progressed than we think.

I won't mind if he comes back, maybe next time everyone will live happily ever after What I would have done is let it go, coz it’s not that important, we have a newbie member, why not enrich their experience on this board, rather than begin his quoted post to them with “and you couldn’t etc etc” as if they’ve done something wrong Here’s why it gets both tedious, in appropriate, wrong and insulting To quote him & just on this thread “the whole point of a thread is”, etc etc “If I’d known you would have been such a cock about it” etc etc “this place is full of mentally retard cocks” Isn’t that pointing the finger at several male members who he has grouped together, let alone is his term ‘mentally retarted Cs’ NOT appropriate in this day and age or any day and age for that matter? How does all of the above relate to DD ? Why do we / I have to read that ? Then there’s “struggling to understand how people communicate in a real world. How do they cope?” Including the “forum is in danger of being suffocated with childish, brainless cocks” He’s a therapist now offering advice, which for the record, we never asked for. Who is he reffering to childish and brainless C_ _ _s ? Isn’t grouping individuals while referring to them in such a rude manner a typical bully type trait? Coz that’s where my quote to him was coming from. Or is it simply inappropriateness and rudeness? If people are vanishing, has it ever occurred to him rudeness on the board could be a cause. If they’re vanishing, who cares? Why it’s a free world and if people are no longer interested in being on this board or interested in DD any longer should that be their reason or whatever their reason actually is, that’s fine with me, Why I’ve noticed several don’t post as much as they once did while I’ve also noticed 10 or so newbies joining thereby our DD life / appreciation on this board goes on. Besides, it’s kinda a dig at Mark, who in skins opinion people are vanishing from his board? people are always gonna come n go, it’s how it goes

Nick mentioned on the live youtube Q&A the band were in the studio a few days ago listening to Reportage and they were surprised how litte work was required to finish it. It looks like Reportage is going to be their album release.
