I am wondering if the band asked Andy and or Warren and if both said NO or were they ever asked to be on the show in the first place? I am sure not Andy because of his health and it being in the US.. Kind of a bummer neither one was a "special guest" for this show? But how cool to have had Andy, Warren, and Nile be present for this show and all guitarists do a one big collaboration and jam session for Rio or another song? This would have been up there for a live show if all of them were there? 3 or more guitarists sounds like too many cooks in the kitchen. The idea sounds great but isn't practical for any Duran song. For a closing jam never! I'll take 2 of 3 guitarists for duran with Dom!! This never gets old!

The show was great to listen to on Sirius.
The thing I noticed was the crowd noise was not realistic. It was too constant. Like it was 1984.
For example, when Simon made the joke about Nick inventing Halloween before Supernature - the crowd was quiet listening to everything Simon said. Then the laugher started when Simon said "Nick Rhodes!". But on the Sirius broadcast, there was constant crowd noise. I said to myself, is this the crowd noise from the 1984 msg show?
I think that there was an edit to the content as well. Nick started playing a keyboard sequence before Lonely in Your Nightmare and Simon said, "I don't know what it is, but it sounds f*&^ing great!". I don't think(?) that this is on the Sirius recording.
Then on Supernature - near the end - JT says "NY, get those hands in the air" on the Sirius broadcast. That wasn't picked up live during the show coming out of JT's mic. I didn't look at the YouTube videos to see if it could be heard during this song on the video recordings that were posted. It was not on an audio recording that I heard from that show.
I get it. Things are done in production before a show airs. For example, during the Westwood One radio shows during the Wedding Album tour, Warren wasn't happy with one of his guitar parts during the live performance. So, he re-recorded it for the show that was broadcasted on radio.

Missing is okay, but really needed El Diablo for this MSG Halloween show..I can see the fair-weather fans head to the bathrooms and concessions stands... Secret October is a phenomenal song! Fair weather fans wouldn’t know El Diablo either but I suppose you needed something to complain about. It’s a good sounding show, Simon’s had better nights but the band are tight and Dom is brilliant. I agree with whoever said it sounds like there is some crowd noise pumped in (or at least upped in the mix) but I don’t mind too much

Having got to the end I have to say the bass is great and Nick has clearly done a lot of work pulling these arrangements together. While Simon’s vocal is tough round the edges I love it where it engages with the backing vocals. It’s great to hear the girls (and boys ) on backing vocals too.
DD don’t need AT or WC, sorry but it’s true.

DD don’t need AT or WC, sorry but it’s true. Well, when playing live they do if one wants the authenticity of the originators playing / serving the song & don’t if one’s not fussed about those who wrote the material not playing it I agree that they sound great but wouldn’t mind seeing AT and/or WC play DD again in some ‘live’ capacity for old times sake at least ! Feel we kinda got ripped off with the R&R HOF performance not that it’s anyones fault, just be good to see them reunite in some manner

I hear that it’s replaying at noon ET today, according to my husband.
It’s possible the crowd noise was pumped up in the mix. But that’s a big venue. And Simon’s voice sounded rough at times, so I don’t know why they’d change certain things and leave that alone.
I found the onscreen album covers to be hilarious at times. They kept putting the Thanksgiving live cover up for various tracks lol. But the DM songs had the DM cover, so maybe that will sell some copies. 🙂

I'm currently listening to the combination of the Sirius audio and audio that was recorded in the audience at the same time. Sirius audio in the front speakers and the audience recording in the rear speakers. Sound f*ing great. It's really like being in the venue, only better. The Sirius audio is relatively raw. Currently listening to Notorious and there hasn't even been the slightest edit in the Sirius audio compared to as it happened in real time. No altering in the mixing of the audience presence either. I haven't heard any deviation yet.....
