Simon back to Whooosh..John in Paris with wife on vacation..
Looking more and more that the new single is dead in the water?
Very frustrating!?
So much for a NEW summer song..
I personally don't want to hear any news of them in the studio with Nile or anyone else if said new song won't be released...it's a big fat TEASE to the die hard fans..

I know they refer to it as a summer song but I don't know if there is any evidence that it has a summer theme or if that was just when they planned to release it. Roger also referred to the lost 80s song from WB era as a potential summer release, so I think they just like the idea of having a song out in the summertime.
I suspect this will be out later in the year to fall in line with the Manchester date. They have only announced 3 dates so it leaves some time to do TV appearances and promo.
After seeing the post of them mastering it at Abbey Road with Nile, I reckon its definitely going to come soon.

I also think they will release something to boost the Manchester show hype. Probably also the NY concert which was filmed right? But sadly, appart from Duranies, nobody is waiting on the new stuff. So they don't have to rush to get radio's to play it. Because eh they won't!

Ive learned to be at peace with DD and their comments - Over the years loads of ' projects' never materialise & my appetite has waned somewhat.
Not worth the stress imo. If honest I cant see what benefit a random single would do for the band at this stage. Might create a bit of interest at the UK gigs but cant seeing increasing attendances - if you were going - you were going already right?
Been talking Anthology and Reportage for years .....
When they drop I'll buy em no doubt but i cant get too excited these days. Love them and always will but after Danse Macabre I'd rather any remaining creative juices are timed well and maybe after a break....Been a busy few years for the band....Time to regroup and determine next steps imo

The Manchester show close to being sold out..mainly upper bowl left but?each day more and more tickets 🎟 selling..but if they wait till then it will most likely be another DM Halloween song. Which I sort of thought wasn't 🤔 but maybe now you could be correct since Nile worked on it during BM.. If Mgmt and PR want to get a song on radio they can. INVISIBLE and Anniversary were all over the Pulse Sirius in Heavy rotation..it's a question if they want to spend the $$$$$..probably not... Just read Taylor Swift releasing another new album to be more poppy disco electronic Nordic Abba, Ace of base..now if only she reaches out to Simon band for a duet!!! 😆 🤣 😂 probably not.. more Sarina Carpenter now since she is a DD fan.. DD now have the Market for yearly 🎃 shows..even after Simon said no more!!! |

I think it was Nick who said they were too late to release it this year, so maybe next year. I think he said that last month.
He also said it sounded very summery, which is why they wanted to release it in the summer.
Keep in mind they would also have to do the video.
