The absolute worst thing about Guinness is the morning after the night before. 'Black Log Syndrome'. It makes you stink to high heaven, and if you get any of it on white clothes, it's a nightmare to get out of them.

Oh, and Ninetails...my hubby refers to Guiness as a "Meal in a Glass". It's one of his favorites. I can't even bring myself to taste it!

Now I've not had the pleasure of going to Eire myself (I will though, some day) but if you are an American then your best bet is to plan on buying many of your made in Ireland souvenirs here in the US. Same or better quality, still made in Ireland, WAY cheaper. For instance, I wear exclusively Irish jewelry and I would never dream of buying outside of the US.
Thanks to bloodshift, I had my first taste of Guinness last year. Tastes only slightly different from any other beer. A beer is a beer, in my book, and I don't understand the fascination.
