I'm sure there are some of you who might be traveling. I thought I'd post this warning for you. BeWare Of Coffee Makers In Motel Rooms !
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you going to stay in a motel room for any reason please check the coffer maker in your room ,People are renting rooms and useing the coffee makers to cook crystal meth in the cofffe makers, check the coffee maker carefully before you use it, if meth has been cooked in it there should be a red looking stain inside of the coffee pot and a chemical smell, if you use a coffee maker that meth was made in, it won't kill you but could make you sick, if you think the coffee maker in your room was used to make meth notify motel management.Because I've done a few "colorful" things in my past........... I know that glass is best used to cook that. But I honestly didnt' realize they were using the coffee pots in motel rooms. And I like for my fellow Duranies to not be sick because they didnt' know about something.

Frankly, I don't think I'd be using a coffee pot with funny stains and chemical smells even before I read this particular warning. This sounds a little questionable to me, because surely the motel is in the habit of, say, washing the coffee pots between guests? And why would people go to all the trouble of spending money on a motel room just to improvise a meth lab out of a coffee pot? Wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy a flipping coffee pot and do it in your own kitchen? Snopes doesn't have an article on it yet, that I could find, but this still smells like an urban legend to me. Junkies dont care how they get their fix. And since one of my relatives USED to be a cook for this particular drug........... I know that the glass coffee pot CAN be used to make it. Although granted using a motel room is not the best idea. However you can move from room to room and make it a mobile lab.

I don't think I'd touch a coffeepot in a room. I don't drink coffee anyways.
