Some women are programmed to completely ignore everyone else when it comes to affairs of the heart. My guess she has done this before. She sounds a bit needy and at the end will suffocate the relationship. Her new beau maybe a control freak but you don't know what she may have told him. She could've said you "twisted her arm" into going on vacation. Either way, you deserve better.
I have a recently divorced friend who pulled the same stunt. We asked her to come to a pool party over the summer with her kids. She told me she had a new man in her life and I was happy for her until the phone calls. For the 1 1/2 hours she was there, he called every 15 mins. She would wander off to the back of the yard while her kids where in the pool. Then when it came to cook hamburgers for the kids, she abruptly needed to go, her boyfriend got off work early. Not even a thanks for letting the kids to play in the pool. That was a year ago, I've haven't heard from her since. Her last husband was a jerk and sounds like she picked up another one. What can you do....
edit: spelling...

It's threads like this where I'm glad I'm single. What a bunch of jerks these women are dating/married to. I hope they all find better mates. Kahlua, I think you should not contact your friend for awhile. Hopefully she'll come to her senses.

Its intersting, and I know that these kinds of men (and even women) are out there. However, this is her doing, she has allowed it (to continue). She is like a puppy when shes around him & does what he says. He even told her once when I was around that at work he has many women flirt with him. My friend got mad at him & went to the bedroom, but didnt say anything. But I did, so I told him "So whats your point?" He just laughed. He knows with the simplist thing would upset her. One thing that I have always kept in mind, is always have (try) a good relationship with your partner & an understanding when it comes to having friends (around). I have not experienced having a b/f like hers & I dont want it, lol Dont get me wrong, I have had my share of "major" jerks. Single & still loving it ! ;D
