OMG, I love the "Davy Jones Dance"!!! I got into the Monkees when they played re-runs on MTV eons ago. I had a little crush on Davy... like 25 years after the show!

My daughter and I are both big fans of the Monkees. We've got both seasons on DVD, and she loves their music as well.
Mike Nesmith is her favorite, which should tell you what a cool kid she is. She didn't go for cute (Davy) or wacky (Micky).

The show is really cute. I might just have to Netflix it for my kids -- I never thought of that. I have a feeling my youngest would love Micky.

It holds up really well too. My daughter is a huge Monkees and Beatles fan, but she doesn't have issues with the fact that the former's TV show and the latter's movies aren't contemporary.

There is something to be said about the timelessness of some things...it's fun to share with your kids. Jack, our 4 year old, loves the old Superman/George Reeves show from the 50's. We TiVo it for him each week. Our other son loves watching 'Gunsmoke' and old movies with us.

I love the Monkees. I got to see them in the 80's it was July 4th and it was one of the best concerts I ever saw. Great memories of my sister and my friends all groving with the 30's and up folks

Conchita, I love your avatar! I'm a huge Match Game fan.
And I sooooo had a crush on Peter Tork back when I was in high school where it was a daily ritual to watch The Monkees in syndication.
