Started shopping yesterday & got a lot already done. May put out the outside decorations tomorrow since it's nice & will do inside next weekend. I can't believe it's that time of year again. I want to be done by early December as I want to enjoy the holidays. Seems we are always so busy & running here & there - that the holiday is done & over & we are taking down the decorations again before I've even had time to enjoy them

I try to start some shopping in November to spread out the cost. As for decorations, I start the day after Thanksgiving. I do this mainly because of the three day weekend to clean & then put out decorations.

I've already started shopping. Tomorrow I'm getting out the decorations and getting a jump on it. Between Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Kayla and Autumn's birthday, I'm swamped.
I also like to get the decs up so I can sit and relax and enjoy them for as long as possible. I REALLY need a little Christmas this year and am so excited to see it come. anything that I can do to bring it closer is fine with me.

We decorate the house after Thanksgiving dinner, on Thanksgiving Day, to shake off the tryptophan-induced stupor.
As for shopping, I don't do it all at once; I usually do it in bits and pieces--December is far too busy a month, between the stuff at the kid's schools, making gifts for teachers, and my own school exams. And I also have a Christmas party to throw for my husband's employees and their families. That alone takes a week to do--getting the house clean, getting all the food ready is a nightmare....
I'm usually ready for Christmas by the 20th; but I have been known to go out as late as Christmas Eve to finish buying stocking stuffers for the kids.

I try to start some shopping in November to spread out the cost. As for decorations, I start the day after Thanksgiving. I do this mainly because of the three day weekend to clean & then put out decorations. Exactly same here. I've bought a few things over the past few months and saved just because I thought of someone while shopping, otherwise I'm just starting to really think about shopping now. Growing up my family always put up the tree and started decorating the day after Thanksgiving. We're all home that Friday from work/school and can help each other while picking at left-overs and drinking any left-over wine as well. Very mellow day but fun day. Although my husband did put lights on the porch already. They're white, and he thought he may as well since he was out in the cold already taking down the pumpkin lights. We just moved onto this block-I hope the new neighbors don't think we're wacky.

One of our neighbours had her tree up last week. All the shops have started selling Christmas stuff. Too early? Just right? When do you start? OMFG... **slaps Mark**it's too darned early for Christmas!!! Thanksgiving hasn't even gotten here yet!!! i will say, thanks to the stores around here, they've pretty much taken the fun out of holiday shopping for me - not that i find holiday shopping "fun" LOL. some stores were starting their holiday decorating at the beginning of September this year....
