My husband just called me from work and said that Jack FM here just announced on the radio that the Duran Duran message board was shut down yesterday and it was a sad day for fans everywhere that it happened, so periodically during the day, they'll be playing Duran Duran as a tribute to their fallen MB! How kewl is that?? Either there's a Duranie at Jack FM or someone in Chicago called it in! I must also point out, however, that the DJ mentioned the paid site unfortunately. I think the message needs to be sent to Jack FM about this site!! Chris Funny you should mention that I heard this morning, we have MAXX FM, & the DJ this morning also mentioned about the board shutting down & they made fun of the board & played TAPS... followed by Save a Prayer.  |

Would you happen to know which dj? I ask because a certain dj there in fact frequents DD.com. He told me this awhile back. Actually, don't say his name. If you could, mention his initials.

we have a jack fm in LA also. they play ALOT of dd... i wonder if its the same

We have Doug FM here in the Detroit area - I think they're the same basic service, aren't they? I actually am listening to them more now since they do play quite a bit of DD (heard Notorious, Reflex and Rio the other day!).
That's wild that the stations have picked up on the story! Even if they mock it, at least it shows the band that it isn't just us that noticed...
BTW, the 'message board' link is now gone from the 'Fan Forums' page of DD.com; now they just list 'fan community' (an inactive link), 'duranmyspace', and 'fan promotion'. No mention of a message board at all!

Way to promote the band, guys. Now not only can fans not find a message board on the "official site", but people are sniggering all over the country that a has-been band had to shut down its message board because there aren't enough fans to keep it going.
I think they need to hire Spy Matthews again. Here was a guy who knew how to get things done!
