Many celebs sell exclusivity to a magazine to lower the price (and stalking) of pap photos. It's actually a very smart move to ensure privacy and protection of your child's image.

It isn't recommended, but we did it off and on because of sleep deprivation. It seemed safer to have the baby between us during night feedings, rather than sitting in a chair, falling asleep, and dropping our child. Sleep deprivation is a killer during the first three months.

Also, new parents have a tendency to sleep lightly anyway. I could never *really* sleep during the first three months, always waiting for the 2 a.m. cry to be fed.

My son is 5 and a half years old and still comes in bed with us if he wakes up in the night.
When his dad is away for work he sleeps in the big bed with me.
I love it.
