I agree. I think that Colin was DD best producer. He really understood how to get the best from each of the members and his ability to record each instrument and properly mix them is amazing, but I think the way he was able to get Simon to sound so awesome, is truly talent. Simon never sounded better than he did on the first 2 albums.

Very sad news - he was a great producer, and the first two albums will always be my favourite DD sounds

Very sad to hear. He did some great work with the band. I wonder what they could have created if they were able to work together again in the 2000s.

very sad news ,I do love the first 2 albums enormously,and the thought that he wanted to work with duran again,would have been great,un fortunately it didn't happen Thx voor the great work Colin,it was priceless

The quality of production on those first two albums is just superb. Part of the reason why many of the early songs still sound fresh and relevant today.
