This is now confirmed to be true. Very dubious . From ddm: With news of the devastating natural disasters to hit both China and Indonesia over the past few weeks, rock icons Duran Duran and their Danish promoter, Peter Kjaer of PT Productions have decided to move the location of the band's upcoming outdoor show (originally slated to take place in Jutland) to Odense where they will be able to accommodate more fans and intend to donate profits from the concert to Unicef.
Already vested as an official Unicef City for 2008, Odense will host this fundraiser on June 21, with Duran Duran. Tickets for the Jutland show will be either transferable or fully refundable.
Ticket details for this event will be available on Monday, together with news of the other bands supporting Duran Duran on this show.
Please stay tuned for full details!ETA: Indonesia? Don't they mean Burma / Myanmar? Surely ! That's an embarrassing slip.

Well, as I have posted before, Hjørring is too far from Copenhagen but I think Odense stands a chance.
The support bands in Hjørring were interesting but apart from Saybia I do not think they could pull that many people by themselves. The date (21 June) is very close to the dates of the Roskilde festival (early July). It has along with the Langeland festival (late July) quite impressive rosters this year so the competition is high.
Still for a good cause and perhaps more support, itr might work in Odense.

Hehe, they've changed Indonesia to Myanmar at dd.com and MySpace ;D. Phew!
The change might make good business sense as far as exposure goes but I feel sorry for the 1,500 fans that bought tickets, some of which have already paid for travel to and from Hjorring. They'll lose a lot of money and have more complicated travel arrangements to make and pay for. The 2 places are 300km apart.

Well it is actually 250 km.
It is just a guess but I would venture to say that most of those 1500 tickets have been sold to people living quite close to Hjørring.
Odense is more centrally located in the country and much closer to Copenhagen (less than a two hour drive either by train or car) and since 1.8 million Danes live in Copenhagen out of a total population of 5.4 million the closer you are to Copenhagen the better. It is also closer for many Sweedes who might decide to go too. Train connections are more direct. It is probably more inconvenient for Norwegian but for germans it probably doesn't make that much of a difference.
All I can say is, I definitely did not want to go to Hjørrring but I'll very likely go to Odense.
