DDM posts a list of the winners for the Meet and Greets for each of the concerts. I don't see any duplicate winners (although I haven't looked really closely at the list). Is it possible that these repeat "winners" are being picked as guests ?

They shouldn't be picked at all. My point of contention is this: If I am paying $400 for a VIP meet n greet, I want to MEET them, not get the "chance" to. And you do realize that they can very easily edit those lists before posting, right? There ARE women who have gone to every concert and gotten to meet them every single time. I met two of them at Orlando. This woman was actually travelling to every concert in Florida and was set up to meet them at each. Whatever happened to the days of waiting by the tour bus and just asking for an autograph?

I totally agree that $400 is a rip-off for a "chance" meeting. Many other bands guarantee a meeting for less money than that. I'm doing one with a friend of mine this fall for NKOTB (oh, the shame...) And my guess would be that those women who meet them every time have other "connections" I'm still sticking to the tour bus approach myself -- of course, I haven't had any success yet...LOL

It's definitely not worth it It's just a waste of money for all the reasons you've alredy pointed out What I can't stand most about M&G is that you pay the band for being kind with you that's kind of embarassing...in my opinion If you want to meet the band...there are many other cheaper ways Fortunately it's not only duran duran...many other artists sell VIP packages at their shows...and I also think it's not a band's decision...so...don't blame DD! I won't pay to meet anyone or pay for them to be nice to me. I just find that very degrading. Apparently I think quite a lot of myself but I suppose that's better than the opposite.

Well, I don't think is DD fault at all, i think is the persons around them, for example DDM ppl. I think they are the ones to blame in this particular case... Aren't they? BTW thank you all who wanted to give their points of view on the article is almost done now, so again thank you so much for it.

Is it possible that these repeat "winners" are being picked as guests ? they may not be listed as "repeat" winners, but if you look at the MEET N GREET pictures, a lot of people in those pics are the same people. i've entered very few contests through DDM (since i do have a membership there) and haven't bought a VIP package yet....but, hearing all these horror stories, i really am starting to think that $35 is about ALL DDM will get from me - if i decide to renew my membership at the end of the year....

I don't have a problem with VIP. I can't afford it but there are certainly people who can and will buy VIP so let 'em. There are other ways to get decent tickets. Some people have excellent luck with TM. I am not in that category so I will continue to be a card-carrying member of DDM for as long as it is available.
Can anyone tell me what is in the VIP gift bag this year for the US dates? All I could see is the cheesy, flimsy bag. I quite liked the duffle bags from a few years ago. I got three of those and didn't have to pay for any VIP. Should have sold those instead of the cheap-looking flight bags, for which I did pay full price for those.

If you are only a member of DDM for the tickets, I suggest you join radio station "clubs". They are free and worth it. I got my tickets in 2005 from WXRT (rock station in Chicago). The radio station clubs (often called vip, insiders, many other names) almost always have presales and I found the tickets were better than DDM.

I just looked at the Orlando pics on DDM, and none of the people in the pics look like they have spike heels on, lol!
Also I know one of them had never had a meet and greet before, not sure about the others, because I don't know who they are.
So, in other words, whatchoo talking bout Willis? ;D
I wear spike heels and lots of makeup to DD shows, but hell, I wear spike heels and lots of makeup EVERYWHERE! ;D

The gifts inside of the bag was a leather bound journal with the RCM logo and a tour poster. I really love the journal...think it is much better than the beach towel given out in 2005.
