trevgreg, I think a lot of people thought it was going to be a single release because A. Duran Duran kept talking about a second single (albeit months ago), and it hasn't been seen yet and B. most fans still hold the hope that if a kickass single comes out, RCM will become popular, and Nile Rodgers worked magic with 'The Reflex'. I think it was hoped that that was what Helders was doing - drawing out the hidden magic in SD and turning a mediocre song into a smash hit single.
That's what Duran Duran needed to be big again: a smash hit single. A song reworked into a nearly-anonymous dance club track, they don't need. That isn't going to sell RCM at all. And when it disappears off the website tomorrow, the only people who will remember it was ever there, is us. Not, I think, what fans were hoping for...

Dude it's only a download version...no actual *single* so far as I can tell as yet. Then from this point on* my Duran Duran collection will not grow any further, except with old items. If they don't bother to release a proper single, I'm not going to bother to buy it. I consider myself a music collector and I don't collect downloads. A record collector is something different than a digital music consumer. If they know their fans that poorly their future is looking grim as far as I'm concerned. Did they ever hear of the concept of pride of ownership? * arguably this point was reached with the non-release of Nice.

Where was the option- "Matt Helders of the Asslick ButtfartMonkeys should be tied down and gang raped by 12 drunken sumo wrestlers with horny pet goats joining in on the action for his sorry incompetent amateur remix destroying DD"?
The remix doesn't just blow or suck. It swallows, and greedily asks for more. Then steals your wallet as it leaves the bed. No integrity or value.

You do realise that the non-release of Nice has got absolutely NOTHING to do with the band, don't you? Like-wise, the non-release of Skin Divers, and the extremely limited run of a physical release for Falling Down? That's ALL the record company - the band records the music. The suits determine the what, when and how it gets released...

You do realise that the non-release of Nice has got absolutely NOTHING to do with the band, don't you? Of course. By "they" I mean those who are in charge of these decisions. Then again, nobody but the band are responsible for choosing their manager and a record company.
