i thought this was a bit of a bargain - esp as the seller accepted an offer...

Yeah, i was aiming to save as much cash as possible for going in on something else, but such is life. According to the BPI site Greatest's 3x platinum status was certified in July 2013. Does it take so long for them to certify the BPI awards? I suppose EMI knows how many copies are sold so I think it's strange that "official" recognition comes 6 years later than this award. Does anybody know how this works?

Does anybody know how this works? That's an interesting point - & have just sent the company who made it a quick email to see if they will tell me anything about when it was originally commissioned.
Well, it 'might' be a typo of course.
That said, looking at the certification dates, both the album & video have the same certification date of 22.07.2013...
...& so, on a hunch, i've just done a very limited search on the BPi site for Parlophone & awards certified on the 22.07.2013 - & there are large numbers of legacy releases all getting new certifications on that one day.
Now, since certification was only gained by the respective record company applying for it, what this strongly suggests is that emi couldn't be bothered to do so at the appropriate times for some reason...
…& so getting stuff properly certified was something that was then actioned en masse after Warner acquired Parlophone in 2013.
So, unless the award making people get back to me with anything that contradicts this, i would strongly suspect that we can put the 3x platinum for Greatest back to 2007.

This is the same disc Ian Little was selling on Gumtree in 2011, I e-mailed him asking why he was parting with it, e-mail is dated 04/07/11. He said a dealer specializing in rock memorabilia had already agreed a price to take it.

He said a dealer specializing in rock memorabilia had already agreed a price to take it. i didn't know about the original sale... ...but that's really useful info as it clearly pre-dates the official triple platinum date.
Oh, & this just arrived from the awards people - "This award was commissioned by EMI on 2007 although the album had been certified 2 x platinum in 2004. At that time the record company, for reasons only know to them, chose the wording for the plaque to say Triple platinum. I can only guess that they were including the sales of the video into the equation. At this time, before the introduction of the numbered BPI holograms, the BPI kept no record of any awards produced, so we always took the word of the label as to any certifications."- &, whilst they don't know for certain, what the guy's postulated is potentially another option.

The top one's just a Canadian variant of a sweatshirt i have already - though i sorted a deal on that & the t-shirt...
...but i've not seen the other two before; albeit that i have a couple of date specific things not wholly dissimilar to the white one.
Out of them all, the sleeveless t-shirt is by far the coolest imho - not least as the 7 diamond is a sewn on patch rather than printed, which i don't think i've seen on any other item from the period.

^ really like that Canadian blue sweater with the snake design Tim. Great score The diamond patch is also a unique catch Versions of the blue sweatshirt do turn up fairly frequently - though the most common one has no back printing... ...however, like most tops from the era, the sizing is *really* small compared to today's. Not that i'm planning on wearing it, but...
For myself, it'd then be interesting if anyone has any info on the sleeveless shirt - as it's a little weird that i've never seen one before, & so i'm a little dubious that it was either tour merch or a generally sold item... Unless, perhaps, it was from Japan, as they certainly have had some unique items over the years that rarely show up outside of the country(?).
(i also know that there was an official 7&TRT themed Japanese patch set sold via mail order back in the day - but i've only ever seen the advert, so have no idea how the one on the shirt compares size-wise)
&, by default, i assume your thinking is that the white top is a bit hideous - which i wouldn't disagree with at all... ...but all of the white promo tops from the US/Canada tour are incredibly rare & i doubt i'll ever see another of this one for sale.

Another deal, but this is starting to get expensive.

Shame about the slight tear on the neck of the BT shirt from someone removing the label - but another 2 crew shirts i've not seen before...
...whilst the iDWYL shirt is a major condition upgrade on one or other of the versions - i think the US rather than the EU (Polish from recollection) made one, but it's been a fair while since i've looked at the labels on them.
