I bought all of the later CDs the day they came out or very shortly after. I went back and hit up a couple of stores when I heard they were doing away with the longboxes to grab ones I did not have of the older albums. Was upset I could not find Rio or Notorious back then. Have since gotten Notorious box. Just need to match it to the correct CD. Desperately need Rio box as well. And in related CDs, I am looking for 9 1/2 Weeks soundtrack, Playing for Keeps soundtrack and anything else I am not thinking of right now that would have come out in a longbox with them on it. (Aside from those 80s compilations where someone else chose to add one of their songs, as opposed to something like a charity CD where THEY chose to take part. I recently picked up that After the Hurricane CD for the recovery of Montserrat.

i've been sitting on this purchase since Saturday - as i've never used any of the Japanese auction sites before &, with needing to use an intermediary company, wanted to wait until it had safely arrived to them from the seller before sharing publicly.
So anyway, this lot is now on the way from Japan -

Yeah, whilst i know that there's a bit of a hotchpotch of stuff posted by me in this thread - some of which is kind of cool - tbh, there is little else that is reasonably likely to come up that i'd wanted more for the collection, so it's an incredible find for me...
...esp as there's stuff in there that i didn't know existed; so i believe that i've only ever seen -
- the stuff in the first photo - though it wasn't clear what the 3 photocards were - but clearly they're not the source of the alt set that Peter (& a couple of others) have; so that's good to know.
- the first 3 of the 4 'magazines' in the 2nd photo.
- & the
(promotional) phonecard - which is the only thing i'd managed to get hold of.
- + the membership card which unfortunately wasn't included.
(obviously i've seen & own the Xmas card, but there was no info to suggest that it was sent out by them as well - as well as the Big Egg flyer)
Yeah, another of the random Duran-timing things that seems to occur - where i'd happened to watch a bit of a YT video where the guy was talking about importing stuff from Japan & mentioned that one of the big Japanese intermediary companies was accepting PayPal (Credit Card, if anything went wrong, would be a load of stress/hassle so have shied away previously) - so had a look & there this was...
...& whilst the costs keep mounting up with it - as the intermediary company had commission; there's more for extra packaging (i'm not risking these getting damaged in transit); the postage really isn't cheap; there will be a load of VAT & duty when it gets here - it could have been double what the total's likely to be & i'd have done my damnedest to find a way to buy it.
So, my long term understanding is that the stuff in the first photo pre-dates the launch of the Japanese FC - as that definitely wasn't until the summer of 87...
...& then there's 'apparently' everything else from it (it ran from mid-87-some point 89); again, apart from the membership card...
(there is no reference for what was issued - hence 'apparently')
…&, within a couple of other photos/description, it's shown that the 4 magazines have never even been folded flat - so, beyond the issue with the single white page in the first photo, this looks to be in a *really* nice condition.
Anyway, that's it - & fingers crossed it all arrives in one piece.

Hey! Great finds! Curious as to what Japanese auction sites you utilise..? This is the first time i've ever bought anything - as it was only Saturday that i saw the YT video. in terms of a site buyee.jp was what i used as an intermediary service for buying & it links through to a couple of different auction sites - but there are other intermediary services out there. ^ FANTASTIC find Tim I LOVE the magazines, never ever saw them before. Im only familiar with the advert for them but never actually saw the mags. This is amazing stuff to add to our fanclub project in the future. Congrats on this amazing score The bits i've seen before were either on Eil or personal Japanese pages - other than the phone card of course, which was an eBay purchase.
That said, i've just realised that that's not the pre-launch phonecard - as that one (which i also have) has got the album cover photo on... ...but still a duplicate - albeit that mine isn't packaged.

Thanks Peter. i think i may need to delay having them sent over for about a week & a half though - as there is an offer on with Buyee where, by spending over 3,000 Yen on the Mercari site, there'd be a coupon for 3,000 Yen off international postage...
...however, unless there's a workaround, the coupon code isn't given until the beginning of February.
Yeah, it wouldn't be a problem between myself & Buyee - as they will hold things for free for up to 30 days - but means that it'll probably be a couple of weeks, rather than a few days - as ~£22 off isn't to be sniffed at.
Just double checked & the vouchers are issues on the 3rd of Feb.
