Thought that this was a nice little lot of empty longboxes - &, whilst there's a couple of duplicates, fills a few holes in the collection for not very much money... ...well, at least compared to what they'd be if they'd had the CDs in.
(that's my quick & dirty collage of dissimilar sized images)
This is amazing

…but there were 4 - D2, Rio, Decade (which i have an alt version of) & TWA - which were filling holes in my own collection. What alt versions do you have? Are there pics?

The other copy of Decade isn't that exciting, as it's just in a generic 2 tone brown Capitol sleeve, with cut outs on the front & back to show (most of) the CD cover - but it was cheap.

(that said, it's not as though the D2, Rio, 7&TRG, Arena & PS sleeves are *that* exciting either - as they again are significantly generic)
Now, ttbomk this was one of the designs of the "Price Busters" longbox re-releases that Capitol issued in the 1990s - where my belief is that this alt one for 7&TRT, which i picked up at the same time, was an earlier design.

Whilst there were then at least another one or two generic cut out boxes that Capitol released things in over the period, i don't know if there were any more Duran ones in any of the boxes.
Oh, & in both of these cases, they printed artist/title/matrix/original label (so these were both Capitol) info onto the outside of the top flap that explicitly links each sleeve to the CD inside - so they're not like generic record company paper sleeves for vinyl, where you can buy any old copy to rectify condition issues.

I don't have it, but I have seen a generic cover version of Wedding Album out there. Thanx for the pics, BTW. That little red/yellow diamond sticker is also on my Arena and Wedding Album boxes.

Yeah, from what i've seen, the diamond sticker was also on identical re-release boxes (to my Decade one) for other artists - but with an additional "Price Busters" sticker...
...however i don't know if the diamond sticker was either a retailer's sticker - & so your Arena & WA boxes were originally from the same chain...
...or if it's tied to the "Price Busters" thing - so both of ours are missing a second sticker - & whilst your copies were reduced they were old stock in the original boxes...
(...or???)
i think it needs input from someone who remembers in the US though, as i certainly can't find an immediate answer - but i'm guessing one or t'other.
