Nick has the gift of being able to use a lot of flowery words... But sayeth nothing. But if they didn't post "Something" people would beeaatch that nothing is going on. "They could at least give us something on the blog about the new album" and then we get something (who said it has to be MUCH) and then it doesn't satisfy...When really you learned a title of a new song, you found out Simon still has more lyrics to do (if this is indeed in ORDER) and the album will be out around Feb. Speaking for purely myself, there's nothing more I want to hear -- except the album.

Actually, if you listen closely, Nick says that you'll hear the TRACK "Leave the Light On" in six or seven months - not that you'll hear the ALBUM in six or seven months. A fine point, I know, but I just thought I'd mention it... Watching the video, I heard Nick say within six or seven months.... I'm taking that we will hear something (long) before the 6 or 7 month mark. How many track titles have been released now?

Who the heck releases an album in February? Duran Duran do. The Wedding Album. It's actually a very smart time to release an album for a band on the decline, because there's less competition. They can get more press/tv coverage, etc., and work their way towards a summer tour. Also, if they go with a self release, they can really experiment and see what works for them and what doesn't in terms of promotion.

If they release on a label, it usually takes a minimum of 6 months to "set up" an album for release. If they're self releasing, then there's a lot of stuff besides the music to get done. Some of that is probably going on behind the scenes now, but........you have to have a finished album before you can set up interviews, promotion dates, etc. And we're talking about a global band. They have to get the most bang for their buck for each city they're in, so it isn't as simple as "Well, we'll book David Letterman on [date]". It's a hell of a lot of coordination and planning. Last time with the writers strike, they weren't able to reschedule some of those tv promo appearances because their schedules were full for the next twelve months.

Yep, probably will hear a complete song or two (at least) by then.

I think the cd should be titled "Procrastinator". I have no hope of seeing it even in 6+months, it will come out whenever they get around to it. Too bad no one has ever kept a chart of the promises of release dates of past cd's. Perhaps a true definition of Duran Time could be established similar to dog years.

6 to 7 months-that's enough time for Andy to re-record Dom's guitar parts and learn the new songs for the Spring/Summer Tour..lol..Is Nick and John on their way to Ibizia for the bring back Andy back tour version # 3? lol
I will be patient but my question is will they have a new label or will they release on the internet? That is going to make or break them on this album--I just want that one gem to put them back on the map like OW did! But I think it will be a B side song they won't put on this new album that will probably be the "IT" song! I hope I'm wrong!! DD forever with or Without Andy...
PS: I still think Beautiful Colours should have been released--great great song!!!
