RIO wins Class Zero in Cowes Week September 3rd, 2010 From Simon:
“In the first week of August I went down to Cowes week, a huge English Regatta, to sail in on board TP52 RIO (named after the song, not the one in the video). I arrived on the Monday and raced Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Tuesday we came in second and then we won all the Class Zero races on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
For those of you who don’t know, I like sailing. I do a small but important job on the boat as part of the rigging team. The victory was meaningful because these were the last races RIO will do she has been sold. On Sunday I am going down to Sardinia to sail in the Rolex Maxi World series to sail on a super yacht called the Hamilton II. We will see how we do in that one, shall we?”
